Default 22 2.0 steering rack

Have just tried fitting the 22 2.0 steering rack onto my 22, but am finding that the steering rack is raising the front end part number TLR1052 by about 3mm so it's either not fitting flush with the chassis or the servo mounts.

The problem looks as though it's coming from the steering block where the metal sleeves insert.

So is it a case of just filing off the excess or is there a difference in the kickup between the 22 and 22 2.0 chassis?

should fit straight on as i did the same. Make sure you don't have the racks housing upside down and also take the cone washers out as the new rack doesn't need them

It's not upside down and I am not using the cone washers from V1.

Do the metal inserts sit flush with the top and bottom of the rack?

Yes mate the inserts fit flush, and if I remember rightly they were a tight fit! needed a good squeeze to fit them in.looking at connors the rack fits chassis to bulkhead you shouldn't be able to see any of the insert.

You're wasting your time. just get kyosho rb6 crankarm set and some bearing... much better steering more precise. cut the rank in half and lengthen the rank with long grub screw so steering crank arm is extactly downward...

I've tried using the Yaibi racing red alloy steering rack on my 22 2.0 !
It doesn't fit !! The alloy one is too narrow and doesn't slide without about 3mm of slop up & down !
Is the V1 rack narrower than the V2 ?

Cheers

If you check out the thread on rctech, it seems european shops jumped the gun a bit. But it can't be that far away, considering it's a professional product photo and it has a part number.

I have been testing a bit back and forth with the stock rack and a mixed Kyosho/exotek rack. I can't drive it without the bellcrank. It's so much more precise, and a lot easier to drive with. The front feels less "sticky", and of course, everything feels and moves quicker.

How does it compare to the original rack?

More precise, it is much more sharper. It is hard to explain the feeling across the internet.
