Default RCCAOI National Championship 2011

Hi all,

After visiting both Drop-Inn racing and CVMCC, it is apparant that the potential for a fanatastic 4wd and 2wd Clubman National series this year is there - we just need to convince the drivers to travel.

I'd encourage all the of the racers whom I have met over the winter to come and take part. The clubman class requires competitors to run a 10.5 (or greater) brushless motor and timing advance on your speed controller must be set to the default/zero position.

You will all be made feel very welcome, and invited to be part of the great atmosphere at the events. We have a limited amount of covered pitting, and 240v power for all.

More details are here

The first RCCAOI 2wd National Round is on Sunday June 5th @ 10.30am in Griffeen Valley, Lucan, Co. Dublin.

I know Mark Penney is planning to travel down and I assure you a great days racing and fantastic "clubman" astmosphere should you decide to come aswell. The track is about 2 hours from CVMCC and just under the same from Drop-In Racing - so not too early a start for most.

There are 2wd modified and 2wd clubman (10.5 turn motor or great, no advance timing on speed controller allowed) classes - so there is something for everyone no matter what your pace is like.

Losi XXX/XX4/22 and Associated B4/B4.1/B44 spares are available trackside along with the usual mix of second hand equipment. 240v electricity, handout transponders and covered pitting (limited space) are also being laid on by the DMCC - so there are really no excuses not to come. There is a McDonalds and massive supermarket 500m from the track.

I'd ask you all to support this championship if at all possible, as the RCCAOI would like to ramp up the series for next year if enough interest is shown this year.

Full report, photos and Tech sheets will be submitted for publishing in Racer Magazine too

ROUND 3 (Final round of the year) of the 2wd National Championship is this Sunday (18th Sept) in Griffeen Valley, Lucan , Co. Dublin.

All available club members required for setup at 9am.
Track opens for practice at 10.30am
Booking in closes at 11am
Track closes at 11.30am

4 heats and 2 finals for all.

Changes to the track were agreed upon yesterday - generally the track is the same as the one that has been used sonce the 4wd national a few weeks ago with some infield changes to avoid difficult areas and to reduce the overall speed of the track.

Hope to see you all there
