Is it possible to anodise a red item blue, or will it only ever become purple?

Yes Col
No problem to change colour
Every time you re anodise a part it is stripped of colour by submerging in caustic,
Then de smut ( nitric acid ) to clean any impurity residue
Then buzzed in the tank for 1hr ( sulphuric acid ) 12volts
Remove from tank and rinse
Submerge in dye ( the longer it's left the darker the shade )
Then pop part into boiling water to seal it for 30 mins
Done
Lol
