Hi guys I seem to keep stripping the diff gear ring and prop gear I've tried shimming it towards the prop gear so it meshes closer but I'm still having issues with crunching etc..... Any help is much appreciated

I used to run mine with minimal backlash and a smear of tamiya ceramic gear grease. Never had any trouble ?

Backlash is the term used to describe the amount of play between the crown and pinion. Needs to be just enough to make sure there's no binding. Check it at four points to make sure that the gap is equal for the whole circumference of the crown gear. Make sure that the diff can't move left to right once you've gapped it properly. Small amount of white ceramic gear grease. Good luck.

You shouldn't have an issue. At first on my DB1 I found the gear mesh inside the rear box was too tight so I moved shims and broke it after 5mn so I went back to the FS2 SP manual, using the same number of shims at the same location and didn't broke since a year and a half or so.
Check housing condition too, they could be worn and led to some play, happened to some guy running Bmax2 but never had this issue with Kyosho. |

Worth checking the bevel gear shaft isnt worn (it probably is) http://insidelineracing.co.uk/new-pr...69fe5a-details
I would also replace both bearings, the plastic bearing holder and also the main gearbox case to be sure. I had a similar issue and turns out everything was a bit worn/warped.

Already have the aluminium bearing spacer, the car is tony edvoka's original db1 so it has everything needed

If I were you I'd try a new plastic holder. The ally ones seemed to give more play after a period of time. I heard that from a few people.

Same here, run the plastic, keep the alloy on my spare box.
