Default KO Propo Esprit 4 problems ?

Just back from a wet but really enjoyable oOple first round of this year..
But after having no problems on Saturday I experienced lots of random range issues on the Sunday.
Swapped the Ariel which has cured problems in the past but no change.
Tried warming up under a hand drier in the toilets, in case it was damp inside?
Again fine for one or two laps then plays up again.
Now home I’ve taken the back off and the only thing I can see is the module thingy? 14 pin connection block was not fully home (but was in place).
Anyway just wanted to ask if anyone else has had problems with there Esprit 4
And if you managed to cure it ?
As I absolutely love the radio just not the random issues!
Cheers

If you've tried replacing the aerial it's probably time to contact Schumacher as it's not normal to have issues and something must be wrong.

I had problems at the oople event with my radio gear going out of range (sanwa) apparently there was a few that had the same problem, it was suggested that the scaffold rostrum had something to do with it, I've never had problems anywhere else

Default Range

We have had a scaffold rostrum for 18 months and have had no issues.
I think there was a lot of generators quite close to the track which has potential to cause issues.
I have also had the esprit 4 and had range issues, schumacher replaced the handset and no issues since. It was under warranty with receipt.
I since sold it wish I hadn't and now bought a new one.
The other thing I would say is damp causes issues so keep it and the car on a dry place not the garage if it's not heated. Also might have been worth trying to dry the receiver also just incase it's not the tranny.
I will report if I find any other possibilities. I'm wondering if running a speaker wire past the rostrum could cause the issue but I do doubt it, after a damp day I'm more inclined to think it was that.
Cheers Paul

I had problems with mine initially, but a new aerial cured it.

I took mine back to Schumacher, they tested it while I waited and swapped the aerial, guessing you could send it back if not local?

My Esprit 4 had issues where the car would brown out for a second then kick back into life. Mine had a couple of new aerials and a couple of trips to Schumacher but no fix.

It finally went to KO in Japan and since it came back it's been perfect. Unfortunately they didn't state the cause of the issue.

Are you running the ariel inside the car or outside as this makes a big difference from car to car, when I ran a YZ2 it was fine inside the car, but with the TLR 22 4.0 I need to have the ariel sticking out of the car (only an inch but it cured it).

Thanks for the feedback..
I took mine apart and found that module part near Ariel not fully home, removed and re fit a few times and so far no more issues?
Will try again at Broxtowe next weekend.
But will take my old 40meg as a back up.
