Default Bolting together !!

So have managed to bolt on the front of the RPM with bell cranks also. New original screws including new original alloy bell crank screws.....

I managed to get nylon nuts 8-32 for the front top bracket and rear hangers. I think it finishes it off rather than leaving the threads showing....

Default More work completed !!

Had some time today to do a little more work on the RPM.

Managed to file down the rear part of the motor plate, clean the vintage RPM turn buckle ends (GREY) and polish up the Tecnacraft turnbuckles, clean the original shock bushings these were a pain but came up like new.

The rear bumper was slightly out of shape but a very slight tweak in a vice soon sorted this. There was also very slight marks on it so decided to spray it black and it came out very well. I also filed the edges just to take the black off then polished up.....

I managed to paint this on Friday and now tonight fitted it to the RPM.....

The gearbox brace came out very well too.

Default Rear Hubs and Driveshafts.

Cleaned up the rear RPM hubs, same as the other parts. The hinge pin holes were a pain but came up like new.

The original Driveshafts came out very well. I have ordered new what Associated call (foamy things) new white foam pads for all the ballstuds. Will fit these then start to clean up the RC10 side of the ULTRA RPM.

I also managed to win an original RPM STEALTH gearbox from the USA. So as soon as this bad boy turns up it will be stripped, cleaned and fitted.

Default More parts fitted.

Fitted to the RPM now is,

Rear hubs with driveshafts.
Rear turnbuckles and grey RPM ends.
White (foamy things) to the ball studs.
Shock screws with new original nuts and washers and original shock bushings.

You will also notice the RPM white spacer fitted to the rear outer hinge pin. The hinge pin is taken from the RC10 TEAM car, so was to long. This spacer was included to take up the gap.......

Just the front too sort. That's next.....

Default Update.

So had the Original RPM gearbox complete come today.....

After some research on this gearbox, its apparent that the RPM box was made for the RC10T and also fitted to the standard rear end RC10s.

It was not made to fit in the narrow rear ended RC10 worlds/RPM ULTRA MOLD without very slight modification.

So again, after research for what modification had to be done, I found 2 modifications.

1. Dremel the complete lower side around the hinge pin/toe block of each side of the case.

2. Dremel/cut the hinge pin holder/toe block and a very slight Dremel on each corner of the case both sides.

So after some thought, I went for the 2nd of the two.

I trimmed with a very TWITCHY BUMHOLE the hinge pin holders and the corners of the case. It has taken me best part of 4hrs to complete this as the price of the RPM gearbox and none in the whole world of RPM parts the rear hangers did I want to mess this up.

But its complete and fits like a glove YEAH BABY !!! Relief......

I will post pics tomorrow of this complete and the small 4hr mods I did.....

I think ive got a white rere or original gearbox if you want it, its never been built and might still be in packet. I bought several when buildinng my Masami replica that made the magazine. Mind you think your going for the rpm bling instead.
