Saddles = calmer car
Shorty = sharper
Surface/conditions dependant I would say, but I get on v.well with the Rudebits shorty cradle ( for a touch more weight & adjustbility) and shorties for just about any surface/condition.

I used shorties everywhere. Combined with the rudebits brass tray and weights you can get the same weight in the car but placed lower down.
The under lipo weights are also very effective.
Not sure on gearing for a 10.5. Maybe try 28/76?

Always run shorty with the RudeBits tray, sometimes extra weight, sometimes the side weights also but always the tray itself.
