Ran mine again at Broxtowe today, such an easy car to drive, never had my average lap times so close to my fastest lap times, really enjoying driving it.
The only thing I'd love to adjust is to get more lock on the outside front wheel when turning, it's something I noticed when I first built it, and it was affecting my speed round one or two corners today, how do I do that, I am already running on the inner (so less) Ackerman link holes? Is there something I can do spacer wise on the inner steering links or any other ideas??

In the outer holes wont you get less lock on the inside wheel and more on the outside(loaded) wheel? Less initial turn in but more mid corner and exit? Thinking outloud here. Could easily be wrong.

Hmm, I've assumed the opposite because back in my karting days, we used to put an Ackerman Link in if we wanted to put more lock on the inside wheel relative to the outside, so I've assumed the same here!?
I think the problem might be (I too am thinking out loud and may be wrong mate) that the steering links are too straight when dead ahead, so as you put lock in the outer wheel lock is counteracted by the steering link moving backwards and further away from the spindle and therefore decreasing the lock if that makes sense?? So a spacer to put the centre ballstud in front of the spindle end when dead ahead would mean the change in link position as you put lock on would increase the relative lock per degree on the servo (on the outside wheel, opposite effect on the inside). Does that make any sense??? Does anyone know what the other effects of using spacers on those ballstuds would be?

Re the ackerman pos I think your right. Ballstud inside hole gives more lock on the inside wheel relative to the outer. Inside wheel gets you into the corner but once the weight transfers to the outside wheel, it then takes over the steering duties. So if your struggling mid corner you want the ballstuds in the outer hole and if struggling getting into the corner then the balls go on the inside. Spacers behind the ballstuds makes sense although I'm not yet familiar with 502 geometry. I think we're barking up the same tree. We cant both be wrong. (lol, maybe we can?)

Hello everybody.
I bought an 502x and I would like to know what is the advantage to use the damper HL cylinders ( items 42132 and 42133) instead of the standard shock bodies? Thank you for your help. CJ. |

They gold shock bodies provide less friction on the pistons, resulting in a smoother action.

Yeah Jamie I was lucky because I thought I'd get hit with charges as I did when I ordered my Trf201. I never got charges on my sons Trf201 at Xmas either so overall I've Been quite lucky. I'll put pics up when my shells finished, collecting it on Sunday.

i got mine off dumbledore on here, very good service and price and i also didnt get clobbered on any charges
I have heard that pbm has some in stock at a very good price, so might be worth giving them a bell first!! Gold bodies = less friction and more BLING!!!!

Does the buggy come with body and wing? The Tamiya USA site says it does but the Tamiya English says not included.
