Default Mardave Marauder Bits

Hi All,

This might be a long shot as the vintage community here are not as interested in the noisy oily stuff.

I have an old Mardave Marauder that needs some TLC. I would like to get hold of some wheels and tyres. The silencer for the period Irvine engine is missing in action. E-bay is a bit sparse and Mardave themselves can't help anymore.

Any possible suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply.

I saw the last ever batch wheels listing but they look to be for foams not buggy tyres as the rims look smooth in the pics.

Now thinking the way to go is to make some new drive shafts with 12mm HEX for the back wheels so I can use something up to date and get a choice of tyres. The fronts should be easy to sort.

Just an exhaust silencer will be the problem outstanding.

marauder tyres were all foams, they were just cut to shape and glued to give a tread pattern

Hi, great information. I am on a learning curve here as I didn't own one back in the day.

So the marauder I have has knobbly rubber tyres (with Mardave branding) on slotted rims. They are still fitted to the original drive shafts and front axles. Were there options for the wheels and tyres through the life cycle so this is effectively already 'modified'?

Thanks,

Default tyres

Hi there
The later kits of the Marauder from around 1989 onwards had spike tyres front and rear with dished white or lime green wheels, the chap that said they only came with foam tyres is mistaken.
Cheers
Mike
