Winter tyre choices
Hi Guys
After a fantastic summer series its now the winter series, what tyre choices do people use in the colder wetter months. Got ballistic buggy greens for wet conditions , what are the other choices, I drive 4WD ? Your help would be appreciated Steve and Cam Taylor |

Hi Steve, yep basically. Same for out doors really. With it being cold and damp usually bb greens all round for 4wd.
When you come to our indoor meetings you've got two choices Schumacher yellow pins which are great on the carpet but not as good on the slippy stuff Or Schumacher yellow mini spikes which seem better on the slippy but are a bit 'washy' on the carpet. I think it usually depends on the layout/ amount of carpet used.

Try Schumacher Silver Minipins. They are awesome in the wet at RHR astro.

Ballistic Greens will do you through the winter months outside. During very dry periods Ballistic whites or Shuey yellow minispike will be a bit quicker.
If you will be attending the Bury indoor series I would use Shuey minipins yellow compound. |

Already tried them at bury, they work but don't have the forward drive that bb greens have

Fair enough, astro pile must be different.

Indoor mate yellow cut staggers in good condition are good all through the track. Minipins on the front give a little more steering on the slippy floor but are edgy and harder to drive on the carpet sections.
Outdoor, schumacher low profile cut staggers in silver are good on the front and keep the car feeling balanced, Schu green minispikes or BB minispikes in green on the front are also good and will give more steering but similar to minipins indoor will be harder to drive lap after lap consistently. Are these the correct fronts for 2wd buggy indoor, as it looks like they do a slimmer version as well,

Yes Mark they are the ones. Don't fit inserts. They fit slim 2wd front wheels.
You don't need to glue if they are a tight fit. |
