Glad to report that the 3D printed 14tooh pulleys are a succesz. I tested 2 packs on road which gave very high loads to the motor belt and pulleys and they held up great. I have a push test video here.

Ok, well metal gears im up for buying and testing in a month or so but still got issues with Shapeways alloy prints so just received my knuckles for the third time and still its not correct but will persist until they get it correct, then when done will need someone to help me with a 3d design of the rear gearbox so I can add a design to it and then Im almost done.

Try to, ive been meaning to do these designs over the last 15 years and now the technology is at the level required to fulfil my ideas. The knuckles are my best design by far, some may disagree but something so simple and small adding the m3 nut into it without it causing weak points was quite tough to get right but not bad in six months for me. Rear gearbox id like a tensioner section added like on my cf gearbox where ive one sitting underneath as having a standard gearbox i can change a belt in five minutes flat but in my cf design takes about twenty five minutes. Then as ive promised once they are done maybe i might for fun design a cf front gearbox thats simple to take apart as the last one looked stunning but vibrated itself apart plus was a pain to take the diff out so want a quick release diff design. Then slippers on, a nice cup of tea and maybe a few lap dancers and relax.....

Have a look at my rear belt tensionor design in the thread named 'lazer zxr tub runner'. May give you some ideas on what you would want to do. It's been faultless, and its also adjustable.

Yup will do, thanks, ive got an idea but dont want complex in the design however by adding more than one tensioner point in my design would mean once the belts got to the stretch point for more tensioning you can remove the tensioner and screw into the next point. I think three screw points should do it. Im on the fence for the top tensioner as i dont need it but see both sides so could add a section for that should it be required.

Update on my knuckles. Third version still not up to standard so they need to revise the bearing holes as they dont just slot in and will need a lot of dremelling to get right and the nut holes arent right either as the only way to get use is by reversing the nuts which you could use but still not up to my standards so hopefully they will get it right fourth time. Also havent tested but think its going to be in between the original Kyosho platic and the cast metal versions in strength. I really am now getting happier that this is almost over, more so than my chassis which is a bit bewildering but feel this design is up there considering the knuckles have cost me a major event here and there.

Ok been tinkering a tad and moved wires, so now going under the centralchassis lipo brace through the hole I designed and to make it look better covered wires with black wrap around plastic. Also advice was given and thanks to my sponser have added Sworks 2wd shocks all round with their springs so now to test and see how it goes. Looks nice though.

Thanks, still tweaking it but once I find the right material for the knuckles I can focus on finishing the rear gearbox design which I started in 92/93. Then it will be the front gearbox design.
