I've figured out what I did wrong I fitted the steering assembly to the chassis and when I fount that it wasn't going to work I just bolted it to the top deck, and as the front box wasn't fitted I never thought.
I'll put it back to how it should be sometime over the weekend hopefully.

Spent a bit more time on the car last night and got the front end nearly complete.

It's now starting to take shape just need to rebuild the shocks with some fresh oil and then fit my electrics and then it's testing time

Thanks optima it's getting there.
I managed to get a lot done last night

I'm gonna see how this performs before I hack up another shock tower.

Had to make a servo mount out of a piece of Perspex I had

Needs a bit of tidying up but there in and if I get time tonight I may do a bit of testing.

I think I have those reddish alu turnbuckles on my first Optima Mid as well. Already looked familiar, now I know why.

Btw, that spur looks pretty thin. Doesn't that increase risk on stripping teeth?

I wouldn't of thought so there RW Racing spurs I needed something to fit the slipper and as Luke used them on his I knew which ones to use, and they were a bargain job lot off eBay I think I paid £4 for 10 different sizes so it's worth a try.

As for the turnbuckles I had a full set in my old dogfighter BITD and wanted se for this but could only find 2 so the rest have been replaced with new trinity ones.

No testing tonight as I've only been home from work for about 20 min and it's starting to get dark so I'll have to wait for tomorrow hopefully

Looking good Peakey!

Quick observation - is the belt rubbing on the top deck at the front just where the belt rolls into the diff pulley? Could be an optical illusion but it does look close... would be a shame to have to take a file to that lovely alloy top deck

Talking of clearance issues the belt on my ProCat seems to just miss the (top mounted) roll bar

Kinda gutted now that I haven't entered 4wd for the Revival

With it absolutely throwing it down outside I'm gonna have to do some indoor testing later when the kids are in bed. So I got my new belt cover curtesy of Brian s and after a bit of trimming got it fitted.

I only really wanted one so the belt doesn't rub any wires. I also trimmed the shell and got it fitting right.

After some tidying the Procat maid it's first trip round the garden this afternoon and it soon became apparent the front springs are too soft. The team tanaplan front wishbone setup sheet says to put long shocks on the front and use the outer hole.
So I'm going to try the rear small boar shocks on the front and put the rear big boar shocks I have on the rear to see how that works. Anyone have any ideas ?

Almost race ready just a couple of finishing touches and it will be ready.

I had a play around with the suspension and it's sitting a lot better now.
Rear small boars on the front

And big boars on the rear

I've also swapped the roller driveshafts on the back for standard ones as I didn't trust the rollers reliability.

Finally I've just got everything ready for tomorrow I'm sure I will forget something.
I've just got to pick a battery from my mates and then load it all in to the car for the early start tomorrow and I've also got a massive box of auto jumble if I can fit it in the car

Wow has it really been this long it was on page 3!!!

So with the house move over and done with (well sort of). And the up and coming buggy blitz at WBMCC that I will hopefully be participating in, it's time to get the cars out of the boxes and sorted.

And what should turn up on eBay but a WASP alloy front diff housing but it was missing the rear mounting posts but I still wanted it.
So after talking to the seller it turns out he had all the bits in a box and didn't realise it was all together, so after a bit of negotiation we agreed a price and it should be here on Tuesday. But it is missing some diff balls so I'm gonna have to find some the right size and then see if it will take the 6mm belt.
