Default Electric speed car

Here are some pics of the 6 cell speed car I am building for the 2012 UK RC Speed Championships to be held in September

Whats the gearbox on there? It doesn't look connected to the rear end
Looks like you've got room on that chassis to lie the 2 lipos down flat side by side, could be worth it for a slightly lower cofg at the front?

If you're going for 4wd on that, how are you going to tension the belt over such a long chassis?

Not criticising, just curious!

Hi

The upper pictures were halway through the build. the gearbox is connected to the rear with a single speed for now. I have the option for up to 14s, there is plenty of room. I am trying it in the 6 cell class first.

I have a side belt that fits and can run it in 2WD or 4WD. The belt is pretty tight so no need for tensioners.

But wouldn't the car flex enough to lose tension on the belt? Like an old Yokomo 870c before they had a upper deck.

It has angle aluminium along the side of the chassis to stiffen it so no
