Default FANTASTIC RACING AT THE HINCKLEY 'OFFROAD GP' EVENT

Hi all,

Last Weekend(Sunday 26th & Monday 27th August) saw Hinckley Clubs 'OFFROAD GP' 2 Day Bank Holiday Event take place.

A Bunch of HRCCC Club Members had spent alot of their time on the Saturday with main OffRoad Organiser Craig Nutting, Preparing the Grass & Constructing the Large Track Layout, to keep everything on Schedule for Kick-off on the Sunday!

On Arrival, many Racers were very Impressed with the Size of the Track & the Variation it had to Challenge everyones Driving Skills! The Circuit itself, incorporated a Huge Main Straight, pushing Speeds & Overtaking to the Maximum, followed by a selection of Sweeping corners, a unique Railway Sleeper Table Top Ramp, some Tight Hairpins & a Straight Rumble Strip! A Straight Table Top Ramp was Featured towards the Backend of the Track, then sweeping into the Be-Spoke HRCCC 180Degree Rumble Strip & Corner Table Top Ramp. A couple of Fast Flowing Corners then led you back onto the Main Straight to complete the Lap!

Classes that the Meeting catered for were 2WD Buggies, 4WD Buggies & Short Course Trucks & the Race Format was 1 Practice Round in Heat Order, 4 Qualifying Rounds(with your Best 2 to Count), followed by 3 Legged Finals for all, so all Drivers had 8 Races for the day, making it great Value for Money!

The Weather was extremely good to us, as it was pretty Hot & Sunny virtually allday..........this also Helped make the Racing very Consistant & Competitive, with Racers showing some Amazing Passing Manoveres!

For the Monday Meeting, we Ran the same Format as the Previous Day of the 'GP', but we had a Track Change. This time we had a less Technical Track, that was very Fast & Flowing, making everyones Laps Times within a few tenths of each other! Track Designer Craig Nutting, also Made a Speciall Kick-up Jump to try out!
Unfortunately, the Weather was'nt quite as good.........with a Light Shower occuring in the 2nd Round of Qualifying, making the Track quite Slippy in places! Fortunately, this soon Cleared up & it Remained Dry for the rest of the Day, giving plenty of Grip for everyone, bringing back some really Close Racing........especially in all 3 Legs of ALL Finals!

Everyone at HINCKLEY RADIO CONTROL CAR CLUB would just like to say Thankyou to Moira with the Catering Vehicle, that looked after us all Weekend & all Racers that Attended our Special 2 Day Event! Hopefully see you all back, when we Hold a Similar Meeting Next Year!

Great event, first time at Hinckley and loved it. There was talk of more meetings in September. Is this going ahead? Is there a club meeting this saturday?

Thanks
