Default newbie advise.

Hi all.

When speedo and motor description, some say they have a sensor fitted. What is the sensor for?

Sensored motors monitor rotor position to enable the ESC to apply the power smoothly also it monitors motor temperature and Additional timing can also be added by the ESC by way of boost and turbo timing.
Sensorless is at low speed notchy and mainly used for bashing

So the ESC knows what the motor is doing.
Without a sensor the ESC is just sending power to the motor and essentially just guessing what effect it's having. With the sensor it gets some feedback. So it can fine tune the power it sends to the motor.
It also allows things like turbo and boost.

What senses the battery voltage then to stop it completely dropping.
