Default Wire gauge

Hello
I'm trying to lose some weight on my touring car as its nearly 100 grams over the limit. I'm running 17.5 blinky and currently use 12 awg on the motor and battery wires. I'm going to make the wires as short as possible but do I need 12awg or can I use 14awg to help save more weight?
Thanks

14g should be fine (easier to solder too !!) especially if trying to insert into "holes" like LRP/Nosram

i dont think you will save that much weight in wires though ?

look for other reasons first what size lipo are you using (heavy lump)

regard s dave
