Smile For sale section rules and guidelines. (UPDATED 29/2/2012)

Continuing on from Chequered Flag Racing's valued hard work I thought I'd introduce myself as the new Trade Room section moderator. I'll try not to become Hitler, but make no promises!

First up: the basics. If you've got a problem with any ad (or post on the site) then all you've got to do is hit the little report button and an e-mail is sent the the section mod who will look into it.

The rules remain unchanged, but not everyone is aware of them, so I've made all the former sticky's available here for easy reference.

First up (and a guideline only) is ch!3f superb post on paypal "gift" payments:
http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76645
Personally I'd never buy from anyone who insists on gift only unless they were a personal friend, but it's your money! It would also be nice if sellers would list their items without using gift. This is not mandatory (yet...!) but a comment will be posted on all ads that ask for gift payment pointing sellers to ch!£f's post on how to ad fee's so that they are covered. Again, it would be nice if sellers were responsible enough to do this automatically.
This thread popped up as well: http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...111#post612111 . Thanks vintage racer!

Clarification of the 7 day rule.
Alot of people seem to be struggling with this extremely simple rule, so I'll break it down so it's nice and simple: you have an item to sell, so you post it in the for sale section. It's not selling as quickly as you'd like and 2 days later it's back on page 3... You may NOT relist this item again until the original ad is 1 week old. You may not link to the original thread in other for sale threads. You may not remove electrics from a car and list seperately. You may not put it in eBay and re-list.
I'm starting a 3 strike system for repeat offenders - after 3 violations you will receive an infraction. Further violations WILL see access to the trade section removed.

New member RULES (not guidelines!)
New members (or members without positive trader feedback)MUST provide pictures with their threads, at the time of posting the thread. (pictures must be of actual item, not library pictures). Once you've had one thread closed (or been warned once and failed to upload pics again), all future threads without pics will be closed without warning.
New members (or members without positive trader feedback) are forbidden to request paypal gift payments until positive trader feedback is received.

Shops/eBay Traders use of the for sale section.
All members who are representatives of traders who are not oOple advertisers are now limited to 1 for sale thread per week.
If you would like to become an oOple advertiser then please contact admin. The Boss is very selective about who is allowed to advertise!

Photo rules
This is an update and ALL adverts now need photos weather it’s a screwdriver or a full kit sell off, photos need to be of the actual item and not a library photo lifted off the internet. If an advert hasn’t got a photo it will be deleted without warning I don’t want to have to do this as it’s a waste of my time but I will if it’s not there.

Category’s
We have had separate forums for separate categories for a while now please use them, don’t post a kit for sale then say I’ll split this for this and this for that againthey will get deleted without warning.

Again, a guideline only, is Glenn's post on prices and photos:
http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59445
Personally I'd never buy an item without seeing it first...

Don't know how to post a photo? It's not rocket science...
http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111740
Or use a 3rd party hoasting site, now photobucket is charging try google drive or something like that.

Prefix's are nice. Especially when you've been lucky enough to sell your stuff! So please try and use them!
http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58436

Now the rules. They don't get much simpler...
http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31548

Possible scammer? Just joined and already got stuff for sale? Known scammer list and protocol here!:
http://oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46285

Finally it would be nice if you made some money from the sale of your goods to help with a small donation towards the running of the site. Obviously this is strictly voluntary!

Any suggestions on how to improve this section then please PM or e-mail either Peakey, Damo, Vicky, Northy, or use this thread in the feedback section: http://oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76258
Thanks,

Thanks Col for stepping up to the task! The trading section is popular but it's only good when people stick to the rules and don't try to take the mickey. Remember to be safe and if you've ever got a problem with a seller - let me or Col know and we'll do our best to help where we can.
