Default Brushless motor check

Hi Everybody,
Is there an efficient (therefore effective, easy and cheap..) way of checking whether a brushless motor is in good conditions or going to die soon?
The multimeter is not of much use.. I've read about LC meters, reasonably cheap also.
Has anyone any advice to give?
Thanks as always!
