address for drift night this thursday

just a heads up to our local lads
drift night is a go we have a few confirmed so far and use of the hall
the address is
longholme methodist church
rawtenstall
the postcode bb4 6qs should get you close enough to find the church
but if you no where rossendale models is, its next door to that
times are 7 till 10
4 pound per person
theres a room to charge in
a track will be taped this week but track is available if needed
and any car any scale is welcome if you can drift it bring it ( drift wheels work well on 4wd buggys)
should be a fun friendly night, it cant replace racing but at least we get a bit of an rc fix

johnnygibbon 06-03-2014 05:07 PM

i should be at the hall just before 7 and i will start laying the track
apparently there is going to be an indoor rock crawler course available at some point not sure if bobs bringing it tonight but for future meetings its a possibillity if any of you lads have rock crawlers , i said i would let you no.
but as for tonight im all about drifting
i will try to get some pics or vids tonight

Howler 06-03-2014 08:19 PM

johnnygibbon 07-03-2014 08:30 AM

Drift night was fun thanks to all who came we had a good laugh
Gonna run again in two weeks and I will ask bob to bring the crawler course down if you want Steve
He seemed keen to do that as well in the back room

Critch 07-03-2014 10:51 AM

Cheers to Milsey, Johnny, and long man for lending me their cars to run,
After forgetting my controller ,
Top lads thanks, had a real fun night,
Looking forward to two weeks,

longman 07-03-2014 09:27 PM

we are running again this thursday same place same time
i have posted in the general events section and will be updating it there
hope some of our local boys can make it again

longman 17-03-2014 10:41 PM

Me and mills will be over again

Critch 17-03-2014 10:44 PM

I cannot wait been practicing tonight in the kitchen diner ,

Howler 18-03-2014 09:23 PM

Hmmm, i could be tempted, tape the tyres on my rally car ;) And take the crawler too, well one of them, whichever one is working...

johnnygibbon 20-03-2014 11:04 AM

taped tyres are fine steve come down and drift if you fancy it
i will go an pick up the crawler board from bob if i get a chance today but i cant promise as the mrs has the van today
i will post on here if i get it
think weve got a few more coming this week so we can have a bit of mixed competition
i have printed some new score sheets
also if any one has some masking tape , bring it an we can mark a mega track out, i only got one roll at the min
and millsy please bring your cones again they are great
an im looking forward to seeing leons new car go round sideways tonight
drrriiiiiiiiiiiffffft on

millsy 20-03-2014 01:12 PM

Cones are with my gear ready for tonight, see you down there.

Critch 20-03-2014 03:20 PM

Rossmod, is bringing a Rtr drift car they have just started to sell, they are also stocking
Full set of tires n wheels for £10

Howler 20-03-2014 05:29 PM

Charging batteries now. Is it the church behind the Temperance Bar? And where's best to park?

johnnygibbon 20-03-2014 05:33 PM

Hi mate yes it's in the church hall next to Ross mods but I've not been able to get the crawler course though sorry pal drift only tonight

birdy 20-03-2014 06:13 PM

Need a speedo for mine and then I will be up.

Howler 21-03-2014 09:38 AM

Good fun last night.

johnnygibbon 21-03-2014 12:38 PM

Yep really enjoyed it to , your losi was fierce dude
And Birdy you will love it
It gets all competitive when the drift heats are on , lee and me are battling it out for top spot but when Leon gets his Sakura set up I'll be worried
We also look like there's gonna be a few crawlers coming next time we will make sure there's a course there in two weeks

What do you think about doing a gymkhana event in two weeks ken block style
Drift round millsys cones and some hang mans nooses ect
Or shall we stick to the four laps judged format

johnnygibbon 02-04-2014 10:44 PM

We're running again this week
Counter steer chaos I reckon

millsy 02-04-2014 10:55 PM

Got a new roll of tape for tomorrow, and I'll have the cones with me. No countersteer for me yet, stuck with 50/50 for now.

birdy 03-04-2014 10:47 AM

Thanks to Jonnys box of everything I've managed to get mine ready.

See you all tonight.

johnnygibbon 17-04-2014 08:04 AM

ok we are on again tonight
i have put a poster up in ross mod and bmm
and also rick from ross mods is gonna let us use the road rail racing track barrier he has
http://roadrailracing.com/
we used to use it for the mardave/buggy club it works ace
however the end circles have gone missing so we will need millsys cones and some tape to join them up but it should make a better lay out for us
any way if any one fancies it come along bring ya mates and any car that will drift without marking the floor
see you there at 7 boys

birdy 17-04-2014 11:15 AM

See ya tonight JG

millsy 17-04-2014 09:59 PM

Johnny's drift nights are just getting better every time, proper track now and a few more drivers thanks to a visit from the Stockport club.
And the Points system seems fair and honest, ehh birdy?.
Thanks to johnny for putting another good night on.

johnnygibbon 17-04-2014 11:02 PM

Top night tonight
I thought it was very well scored as well Millsy
Loved using my old car tonight it felt smooth

millsy 22-05-2014 10:05 PM

Great night again. Johnny's getting very close to having the perfect cs set up with his volvo ratter, and I think everyone is improving with their driving techniques.
Also johnny has got a good understanding of what works now for track layouts.
Cheers johnny.

johnnygibbon 22-05-2014 10:34 PM

alright lads

thinking about starting this drift thingy ma bob....

had a go on sunday just gone of jonnys and millsey car and loved it

looked into it abit and was just wondering if this RTR is decent?

http://www.rossmod.co.uk/p/65365/FTX...terproof---RTR

or what was that tamiya chassis i was told to get? tt01? i forgot

cheers

johnnygibbon 28-05-2014 07:49 PM

Yeah a couple of guys run them and they seem to work ok really for the money
Simaler to a tt01
I think the tl01 and ta03 f like millsys are the better tamiya drifters
But any 4 wd tourincar is ok
Yokomo mr 4 ect work well
I will bring my spare car tomoro if you bring your transmitter and receiver you can drift it
