Spares - Who do you guys use.

Im having a quick look around too see who stocks spares for the sx. Can i ask who do you guys use?? Can find plenty of shops selling the cars but no really covering the spares. Thanks. Col.

Darren Boyle 09-12-2008 10:44 PM

We carry the full range of spares and speed secret parts for the Cat SX all on the shelf mate if you are in need (all at the pre-Schumacher prise rise price too!)

sly 09-12-2008 10:48 PM

The same old suspect, wishbones, towers, spurs gears, gear box top unless you switch to alloy ones, front castor blocks and screws, rubbers!! bands, set of belts, hubs hinge pins are what i have so far Colin. Baz has one too. Nick, Jay and Steel Sr. all have cars. outdrive savers of Noel at our club (cream).

Price rise? :eh?:

G

sly 09-12-2008 11:01 PM

Just before the VAT drop the price went up a little 2.5%ish

Northy 09-12-2008 11:09 PM

Odd, prices on the Schumacher site seem to be about 2.1% less than I remember :eh?:

A replacement chassis was £59.99 when the sx was first released now there are £61.65. £61.48 is 2.5% more thats why the ish from the top of my head but £61.65 it`s more like 2.77% more then before.;)

Darren Boyle 09-12-2008 11:18 PM

Schumacher issued a new price list on the 20th November to the trade, across the board most items (except kits and tyres) all went up by between 5-10%ish (some more and some less).

Examples -
U3314 front wishbones Cat SX were £7.49 now £7.99
U3300 front hub carrier Cat SX were £6.99 now £7.99
Diff outdrives left or right Cat SX were £6.99 now £7.99
...

The rise was a clean sweep across the whole Schuey range pretty much (not a dig at Schuey at all, everyone has had rises - CML, Horizon, Mirage, Ripmax etc etc)

We had a pretty damn large order of spares from Schumacher ordered in deliberate before the rise and we are holding ALL of these prices and not putting up any until the stock runs out and we have to buy more at the increased price (same policy applies on EVERYTHING in our shop, price rises will NOT take effect until stock runs out and we have invested £1,000's in extra stock to keep these rises away for our customers for as long as possible) Shops who have to order your spares in will be getting the higher prices from everyone already and I assume most shops will be passing these rises on as they get them (almost impossible for them not too).........

The RRP on the chassis is now £62.99, it was indeed £59.99 on release, this has risen by 5%

Northy 10-12-2008 09:04 AM

Ah, fair do's, the thing I went to on the site to look at the price was tyres as I could remember how much they were!:lol:

Not meant as a personal attack but I always find self promotion a bit tacky.

Anyway,

http://www.m-k-racing.com

Marc sells all the bits and pieces and has been good for me. Price rise is all to do with pound against dollar sadly.

J_WOODY 10-12-2008 07:41 PM

so far i've only ordered from M-K Racing, and they've had everything i've needed

Northy 10-12-2008 07:52 PM

Only things I've broken:

Front wishbone - upside down car at the end of the straight that the owner didn't shout about

Front shock shaft - hit wall at the end of the straight at Worksop in practise - I ran out of talent

MK Racing. Spot on service. Website tells you if things are in stock or not. A must for me and the website is easy to find things not like some ive tried to use. Didnt seem to have the things in i needed a few days ago though. Dont know what happened there!!

ashleyb4 10-12-2008 08:41 PM

Never order SX parts from DMS but ordered pleant of other bits and bobs from diffrent manafactures from there and darren's service is top on also one of the most competative shops on price.

A question was asked, I gave an answer, funny, that is what I thought forums were for....... this isnt the first time you have took a little swipe at what we do (about the third I think) but then everything we do you seem to dislike so I have gotten used to that and tend to ignore most comments.

Back on track, thread is about availability of CAT SX spares and so far ourselves and MK Racing have come reccomended from various users to those who are looking......... Hope That Helps

dbizzle5 10-12-2008 10:15 PM

Third time I have taken a swipe? I know you would take it badly.

I am just saying, there are plenty of other shops on here and they don't respond to every thread about finding stock with a little promo about their business. I don't want it to sound like a bad thing, I think it's just best for users to share their views. After all there are enough users singing your praise on here. Perhaps it is just me, but after many of threads I thought I would just share my view that it's bad taste. Or are forums not for sharing views?

As for third time, I don't know how you counted that. With the xfactory site I offered genuine advice and was as polite as I could be about picking areas that needed improvement. The fact you took it as a swipe says more about your mindset than mine...

Darren Boyle 10-12-2008 11:33 PM

 Just cant leave it alone can you.

If someone asks if somthing is available and I can help I tell them, is that wrong? Dont "quite" respond to EVERY thread just ones that concern brands we cover or can help with. It is not MY fault if other shops dont wish or cant be bothered to help out on the forum, I can only do my best to help out the racers, some appreciate it, and the tiny minority seem not too.....

FYI you also wrongly accused me of snipering prices after other shops had set theirs.

Rich D 11-12-2008 12:02 AM

Ive used DMS and MK Racing - both excellent service and no problems.

Some folk arent as proficient at scouring the net for parts as others. I for one arent offended at DMS or anyone else offering up what they have available when the specific question is asked.
I cant see why anyone else would be either ? :(

If i was paying my mortgage from sales of RC gear then id be doing my best to tell folk how good my service was too :)

Just my 2p

Darren Boyle 11-12-2008 12:09 AM

Ta ;)

Colinevan 11-12-2008 09:29 PM

Darren,

i have pm'd you as i had difficulty in ordering all the parts i needed.

Thanks

Col.
