rip off??
|
Mmm indeed, very X Factory looking!
|
just a bit. But if it's cheap and has good spares support then it's a good thing for the hobby.
|
Looks like the cell configuration is more like the Atomic Carbon conversion, i.e. pair of saddles?
|
Its only as much of a rip off of the X6 as the rb5 and 201x are to the B4 :woot:.
|
How can you change it lol, its either gonna be a copy of the ac or xfactory  doesnt look as wide as the x6 and doesnt have as much carbon fibre as the cr2 :woot:
|
And the B4 is to the XXX!:p
(had to throw that in) |

Ha yeah thats true!
As a team driver, Gil Losi Jr would have had input into its design tho  (scraping the barrel now) |
|
How unusual for Pete to appear as soon as I say the word "Losi"
Like the Losi word stalker or something! Anyway, nice car. Might pick one up if there cheap enough |
The Xpro is about £90 and the Xpro super hopped up thing is about £180 so hopefully this should sit somewhere in the middle. I recon the one to have will be the hopped up version with big bores and some ally bling. Its not been mentioned but if they did it with the Xpro theyre gonna do it with this
If I didn't have 2 X6sq's I'd be having one. |
Thing to do i suppose is see how it performs.
For that kinda money you could get a decent 2nd hand x6 I think? |

And considering that the original Team C 2wd is a geometric copy of an RB5, it's hardly a rip-off of an X-6. I actually think Team C should be applauded for putting a reasonably-priced out-of-the-box mid-motored car on the market. |

I was interested to read this topic as I'd been following it here! http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...719#post429719 |

All mid motored 1/10th 2wd buggies are old hat, Kyosho did it back in the mid to late 80s with the Raider ... plus I am sure I remember loads of RC10 based conversions (Tekin was one IIRC) and then there was was the FAB2000 ... in the 90s.
Pick the one that suits you then drive and enjoy it I say! |
Ansmann Mid Rat
i believe there will also be a rtr version that takes sticks too :D would be an excellent beginners car

But unless you've got something on your mind that I'm not thinking of, or can't remember, realistically there hasn't been anything truely "ripped-off" since the first caveman invented the wheel. Ground-breaking? Perhaps not. But when was the last time something truely ground-breaking and totally new and different, without some liberal amount of "interpretation" of something released by another RC company? I mean, dadgum, we've all but gone backwards with the reintroduction of using geardiffs in electric cars for cripes sake. |
Theres a difference in situation between one car having 100% parts interchangeability with another car (i.e. a clone), and one car being inspired by another.
|
I like it! The bodyshell looks funky too! If they do a big bore shock version im tempted!!!

Let's see. You can read, so re check the title. Then tell me what these mean ?? You have two options 1 its a statement 2 its a question. Over to you Einstein Oh and check this out http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...994#post429994 |
unless there is a change in the packing or tyres of or race cars all design will reach optimum design point. As designers try every diffrent itration to learn what works or doesn't.
That why F1 is dull unless it rains compared to what it was like in the 60s 70s and 80s where was a partern of continuous developement , as all the cars use the same tyres and the rules have rescricted what can or can't be done. |

Interesting comments. If it is a rip-off design then I hope whoever designed it originally takes some action against the rip-off merchant.
I do love the comments about there being nothing new, and race cars reaching an optimum design. That will never happen. There are rarely any ground-breaking designs because the Rules make that impossible. There is always some things that come back from the past because no one thing is ever out of date. Whatever the case, there will never be such a thing as an optimum design that never changes, only an optimum design at one given point in time. Move time on and the design moves on. Race cars are very complex beasts. Things change all the time - execution of past designs, materials, manufacturing techniques, motors, cells, tyres, tracks, shells, etc. - within the Rules. So, things that didn't work before on a particular combination may work now in another combination. Nothing really ever goes out of fashion, it's just that certain combinations work in one set of circumstances and then, when those circumstances change, other combinations of designs work. One thing that never changes are the sayings of two of the world's great designers, Colin Chapman and Keith Bontrager. Chapman said "Just add lightness." Bontrager said "Strong, light, cheap - pick two." All great designs follow those two 'rules' IME :) |
