Caldicot 9th Dec Open Meeting RESULTS ADDED

UPDATE: After some discussion we are going to make this meeting our Christmas bash, so bring your festive cheer. We will have mince pies and biscuits free when you buy tea or coffee and there will be prize giving after the meeting where EVERYONE racing will get a prize (mostly stuff you can eat, not some crappy piece of plastic http://www.uk-microrc.co.uk/forum/st...fault/wink.gif ) There will be an added twist though, you will pick a name at random at the start of the day and he is your driver for the day, whatever position he comes you win that prize http://www.uk-microrc.co.uk/forum/st...lt/biggrin.gif Meeting will be 3 Qualifiers (FTD) and 2 finals final scores added together to decide positions.

Caldicot RC Racers are having an open meeting on Sunday DECEMBER 9th

It will be at our usual venue, Caerwent Community Hall (see "Club Info")

See link below for club info, map, and pics of our hall.
club info

Doors open at 11am and we'll go on till about 4pm, we can carry on a bit longer if we get a good turn out.

Cost will be £5 for one class, £7 for two classes.
Juniors race for £3 for one class, £5 for two classes.

We will run classes for 10th off road and 1/18th off road.

If you want to come please pop your name down below and I will update the list below daily. You don't have to pre-book, just turn up and race.

We will have pop, crisps and choccy for sale, but if you want anything more substantial you need to bring it yourself.

Many thanks from the team at Caldicot to all who made the trip. Sorry we ran so late but we didn't expect so many entries. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves and we hope to see you at our Easter Egg Race in March.

Body Paint 27-11-2007 03:23 PM

DAN As long as there are enough bodies there early enough yes.

We can make a table top out of the boxs then ;)

Welshy40 01-12-2007 11:48 PM

Pity I cant make it, I am having a big session at Ascot. Gutted.

I wanted to see if I could still make the top three, well mainly due to never finishing any lower than that at this track since I can remember so would be quite amusing to see if it was possible again.

Any ideas if Dave or Peter's going?

RogerM 02-12-2007 01:05 AM

Craig, how big is the track going to be? Trying to make my mind up on micro or 1/10th.

Body Paint 02-12-2007 06:29 PM

ALL: I have just updated the first post with some extra details.

JAMES: Not heard from Dave or Pete, might drop them a PM.

Roger: Here's a pic of the hall, track will have a bit more carpet and be a bit more technical for Sunday.

GRIFF55 02-12-2007 07:01 PM

sounds fun!!, did you get my message about simon??

Body Paint 02-12-2007 07:22 PM

Didn't you say he was a possible? or did I get that wrong?

c0sie 02-12-2007 09:33 PM

CANT WAIT!

See..I even typed in capitals to emphasise the point!

Harris..your ass is grass young man lol!

Welshy40 02-12-2007 10:37 PM

All I can say to the guys that havent been there before, its a tght small track but its one of the best carpet tracks to race on. Years back we had a few of the RRC top twenty turn up for a welsh event and what an event that was. competition is always close and fast. Also if Craigs doing the track its going to be a good design, as always.

Craig - I told Dave and maybe he will do it. I hope so.

Gaz_Stanton 02-12-2007 10:59 PM

Hi Craig, can you put me down for this as well. Will be 1/10th as not sorted a micro yet.

Body Paint 03-12-2007 12:04 PM

Cheers James ;)

Unfortunately Dave cant make it, so count him out. He will be down there sooner or later even if i have to drag him. Club still on the Friday evening as it was when I was racing there?

Body Paint 03-12-2007 11:05 PM

DAN, Rava found it, he thought it was yours so he nicked it LOL only kidding, it's in the cupboard.

JAMES: Yep,same place, same time. We wont be there between xmas and new year but should be there every other friday. Pete can't make it either :(

RogerM 03-12-2007 11:32 PM

Body Paint 04-12-2007 06:58 PM

Last I heard he was running for Mayor of New Tredegar o something, I know he was on the local counsell a few years ago, shortly after being ordered to clear all the rubbish from his driveway LOL

DCM 04-12-2007 10:18 PM

Mike Barton, Fabiix, lived up the other side of Blackwood in a tree or something.... might even of been a cave. Abergavenny was John Partridge.

Not to sure exactly, i think the core group that run the club went their own way, and the club folded, to emerge the other side of Blackwood, up in Markham, which eventualy merged with COBRA due to lack of numbers.

Craig remember when he let me in to see the cells being made and how badly he treated those cells, it made me laugh.

I cant believe you beat the Kyosho Team at Oakdale with those, mind you I cant talk either as I had to use them at quite a few events when he was around (even got stu wood to swop the cells when he wasnt looking hehe) and at the British Grand Prix with his 2wd pile of junk.

His house was a joke, he had so many nice cars rusting away
