AfroP 29-04-2011 03:32 PM

Tamiya madcap

never worked properly always sounded like it was grinding gears or something. even paid an "expert" to repair it and he ended up giving me my cash back as he couldn't figure out what was wrong

eyeayen 29-04-2011 03:33 PM

I think the first RC car I had was something from Tandy or woolworths or somewhere, it was called a winch, little red jeep thing with a winch on the front.

My first proper car was a Tamiya Fox, then I also had at the same time a Mardave Mini Stock which is were I got my first taste for racing.

Then I had a Clodbuster, then they sort of got forgotten as Motorbikes and girls sort of got in the way

First car

Mine was a Mardave Apache - which I still have.
Mid motor, no diff or dampers. Indestructible.
Gearbox had 2gears which cost 35p each.

Yeh, funny how that happens... its a good job that RC cars are about as addictive as crack or I wouldn't have come back to it.

My first proper RC car was a Tamiya hotshot... had loads of naff things from Tandy beforehand...
