FrSky receiver pins change from horizontal to vertical

Hi

Just wondering whether anyone has a method of changing the orientation of the pins on a FrySky receiver, from horizontal to vertical? I think they are likely horizontal to fit into a plane! But obviously the requirements for a car are slightly different and space is at a premium in the nose of a KF so vertical would be better for me.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

Adrian

Mine are all vertical and in the printed cases from bloke on ebay

I just gently worked the black pin divider up and off. Then with small flat pliers i bent pins up.

Done 3.

The printed cases are awesome

I've done the same as tonydevon. straightforward.

A case would be nice!

Pin bending is one method, but you then need to trim the longer pin, and then its a bit messy and eventually the servo plug doesn't like it.

best method is to de-solder the the angled pins and resolder in these:

or the 2-row alternative:

Afterwards I used to shrinkwrap the enire receiver with the antenna inside. worked great.

When I used them I took them out and resoldered them in vertical;)

i cheat, pull the black insulator off, bend pins upright, push black insulator partially down to just below where you want pins to end, dremel off the pins flat, file pin tips to a point, blow off with airline to get rid of any filings, push insulator down and jobs done. print off my own snap together cases for both laydown and upright pins, not amazing but work well and protect the rx nicely
