Pop quiz hotshot... what do you do?
You've clipped the track marker and rolled over, landing on your wheels - but on the WRONG side of the track markings, half a lap ahead.
Do you... 1. Carry on regardless 2. Wait until the car you were behind passes and carry on at the same gap 3. Wait until the car you were behind passes, wait a few more seconds (how many?) and then continue 4. Wait for a marshal to put you back on the right side of the markings and then carry on. What racing ethics apply here please? |
Option 5. Try and get yourself the right side of the track...even if you fail you're more likely to attract a marshall's attention. If after trying this for a bit it dosen't work..........go with option 1.:p

if you do 1. penalty
if you do 2. penalty if you do 3. possible penalty depends how long you wait if you do 4. no penalty but you probably lose |
I would drive over the pipe and carry on on the right side of the track. I got a penelty for jumping about 30 cm of the track.

correct answer is number 4.....i believe all other 3 options are punishable offence's by a ref..

But then, if the marshals were awake enough, they would've seen it and quickly marshalled you onto the right side of the track without to much time lost.

The problem is you made a mistake and did not loose because of it. Is it fair on the guy who runs a faultless 5 minutes?
I hate to see people stop and wait. G |

In terms of mistakes and whether or not they should "cost" you, loads of times I have seen people clip barriers and roll back onto their wheels without losing any time at all, just so happened my roll put me on the other side of the markings. So paying for mistakes is a much a matter of luck as anything. The question is what is a fair way of responding to luck. |
try at all costs to get back over the piping..i agree with G,hate to see people taking risks over jumps too then when they get it wrong and land on the other side of the track they carry on like nothings happend!
