ColinO 11-01-2012 03:27 PM

Oh cool, Are you stocking them Dave?

Can you get a pair of each in for me for Friday?

I've ordered 3 pairs of hard compound and 3 pairs of medium (i didnt order any soft hadnt seen your post till just now) hopefully will arrive tomorrow.

Shimizu Tyres & Inserts for M Chassis cars
Now available, new tyres from Shimizu for Tamiya M Chassis sized vehicles. 3 Compounds to choose from, Hard, Medium and Soft.

Specially developed for carpet racing.

The soft tyres will give the most traction but can overheat in warmer conditions.

The medium is a very good all round tyre for most conditions.

If the steering is too aggressive then use one grade harder tyre on the front than the rear such as medium rear and hard front.

Supplied with inserts in pairs.

what are you running at the moment?

Spoolio 22-01-2012 07:15 PM

If you are using the kit speed control then a Tamiya Sport Tuned is safe but pricey. I have run a HPI Firebolt 15 turned brushed motor with a stock speedo but it did melt the speedo case eventually (I think they're only rated down to 23 turns). If you want to shell out £60 or so the Hobbywing EZrun 13t brushless speedo and motor combo is good.

Hi I'm a bit thick being a newby but this is what's in the mini now STANDARD SILVER CAN MOTOR.

NOSRAM HAWK ESC,

Chris56 22-01-2012 08:39 PM

In that case a good step up would be the Sport Tuned (AKA "Black Can") motor.

I've also seen a few people using the Ansman Clash motors - your esc should be able to handle them ok

jimmy noke 22-01-2012 08:48 PM

Cheers Chris think I'll go the ansmann way for now what turn clash motor would you recommend it's a 20 tooth pinion on at mo

Chris56 22-01-2012 08:54 PM

I think the silver can motor is a 27T so maybe go for the Clash 23T.

I've never raced an M03 so im not sure what pinion you should use, however when I went brushleshless in my M05 I didn't change the pinion and have never suffered any overheating issues (even after fitting the high-speed gear set).

Spoolio 22-01-2012 09:17 PM

Forgot about the Clash, didn't know if they still made them. I'd second Chris on that, a 23t one is better than the silver can and they ARE as cheap as chips.

jimmy noke 22-01-2012 09:29 PM

Cheers gents hopefully get one sorted for next week

chris brown 22-01-2012 10:08 PM

I run an ansmann 23turn in my m03 and its fast. Doesnt get too hot either. I use a 20t pinion too.

jimmy noke 24-01-2012 07:03 AM

Ansmann 23T
