Control tyres for series is same as previous i.e.

Schumacher Minispike
or
Ballistic Buggy Minispike

Both can be used in any compound.

No other tyres are allowed to be used on the rear axle, other than if you have a ready to run car where you can use what was supplied with the car, until they wear out then you must use those shown above.

Pts

Could you please post up details for the personal transponders please what we can and can't use

bigchris 20-02-2013 07:57 PM

Hi guys ,
The 2013 series will be run with the host clubs AMB system , with a recommendation for the new rc4 version,

The original AMB dp will work with all systems.

The Hybrid "Harry" transponder will work with all systems.

The Pure "Percy" transponder will work with the new rc4 clubs only.

The MRT will work 100% on everything but RC4

Any club not running RC4 will be obliged to supply an alternative counting method for counting those who turn up with Percy transponders.

As you can see hopefully all angles covered , not ideal but my laps has forced our hand and we have to future proof for new tech and incase anyone's decoder box fails causing a large expense and it would be upgraded to rc4 then anyway.

Mr Eccleston 20-02-2013 08:11 PM

Once the host clubs confirm their intentions it will be communicated, but from the agm rc4 is the way forward.

Shame 3 of the 7 rounds clash with SDRCC clubs round for off-road

Mr Eccleston 21-02-2013 03:00 PM

I suspect they may change as they did last year, it's a SORC rule that club meetings don't clash with Regional rounds, it's just a problem of timing with the date announcements.

This is exactly why the rule is there, to prevent having to choose between regional or club. Hopefully you will be able to make it along now.

dhann42 21-02-2013 08:37 PM

I missing 3 round as well it took so long to get date some people have entered oOple series or booked holidays. So the PT the if you have a MRT you need to get a new pt yes

Better to get them traded in for MYLAPS Harry if you're racing down south Dave. Safer if you're not sure what system they are running.

Mr Eccleston 21-02-2013 09:10 PM

It didn't take long to set the dates, everyone that took part last year knew the AGM date (a years notice is plenty time), if people have committed to other dates they have done that early.

Regarding PT's, if you have an MRT you need to check with MRT if they will have their problem fixed before the first meeting. If your in doubt then you could look at the MyLaps trade in offer as a quicker solution.

Remember as well that the EOS meetings will be RC4 as well.

This statement is wrong I'm afraid. If you have an MRT you can still race, not a problem, you are still VERY welcome to race. Dunfermline will be supplying handouts as we always have done, and I beleive Stonehaven have handouts available, not sure what Falkirk or Sutherland have at this time.

Currently waiting on confirmation from each club, when the clubs have confirmed it will be posted here as well as the SORC FB page.

I am all for using the AMB system
what's the cost for a Percy transponder were can u get one what clubs are using the RC4 in Scotland

As the post said MRT won't work with the RC4 people need to no that's all.

dasbo 21-02-2013 11:14 PM

Chaps,

We're currently reviewing our own club race dates so they dont clash with SORC, as per the usual rule.

Also, after discussions amongst committee members, SDRCC are not planning on upgrading to the RC4 box at this time, so "Purcy" transponders will not work at Stonehaven (or GRCC). However, as Derek has already stated, we will have some of the new hybrid "Harry" transponders to hand out on the day if required.

One of my transponders is an MRT, so I will probably replace this with a "Harry" so it works everywhere. Other than a small discount in price, I'm not sure why anyone would buy a Purcy style if there is a chance it may not work, depending on where you go to race.

Future proofing. Its only a matter of time until the original transponder is dropped because of some software update

GBH 22-02-2013 08:22 AM

What was wrong with shouting out car numbers when they drove past the caravan

Just to clarify the statement above, there is currently no sponsorship of the SORC series by Ardgay Models, or indeed anyone for that matter.

If people are interested in sponsoring the series they need to approach the committee so it can be discussed and agreed if appropiate. Any agreed sponsorship would be communicated via the SORC Committee.

bigchris 24-02-2013 11:33 PM

Hi Paul,
Whilst all the racers really appreciate the gesture it was felt that it was not really a sponsorship per se, but I for one will no doubt pick up tyres and other parts from Ardgay models throughout the season.

Looking forward to a good 2013 series!

Chris
