Low profile savox in 4wd
I'm thinking of using the savox 1251 low profile savox servo in my xb4, should be ok shouldn't it???
|
it wouldn't be my choice, as torque is low and they have a tendency to strip gears, but with the servo saver set a bit looser than kit setup it should work. if its a case of using what you have then go for it. I'd have a spare a rvo or gear set in your box for big meetings though. I don't trust the 1251 after stripping gears in my old centro.
when gears start to slip against each other, you can use a hammer and punch to fuse them back together. |
A normal size servo would be better as they are more robust but if you are limited on space or already have the low profile servo i dont think it will cause you any major problems.

I would go for the 1257 or 58 in the 4wd, seen lots of 1251's strip gears in 4wd's

run a 1251 in my kyosho zx5 sp2FS no probs at all
|
I've also ran a 1251 in my lazer fs1 with no problems. Thus was outdoor on astro and indoors on high grip carpet and plenty of full speed prangs to the front end as a returning newbie.

Cheers peeps,
I normally use the 1258 but have bought yet another car and have a 1251 sitting around, so thought I'd give it a try!! |
