sanwa reciver
hi guys got an old sanwa gemini set the reciver has broke which reciver will work with it as i have been told that the new gemini 2 wont ???
|
if the reciever has broke then i doubt you can get reciever's for it now :(

If I remember correctly one of the older, tiny KO receivers works with it but it is a good 10 years ago so my memory might be wonky.
The LRP FM receivers should work too. Nice pieces of kit back in the day! |
oops, my mistake

My understanding is that the only difference between the (not very) new Z-connector receivers and the (very very) old ones is the way the servo power is wired. The signal from the transmitter is the same.
So the new receivers should work, you just need to switch the + and - wires on the servo plug (or, leave them in the "normal" positions that all the servo manufacturers now use). I have seen Futaba receivers used with Sanwa and maybe KO too. Although these mix-and-match solutions sort-of-work, if there is interference about, it always seems to be the mix-and-match setups that suffer. My only experience of mix-and-match gear was running a "compatible" Hitec receiver with my Futaba transmitter. It worked on one crystal, but when I had to change crystals for the final the car went nuts and did donuts by the rostrum. |
The rx311 reciever will work with the old square sanwa gemini(the one with the flap on the front) as I use this setup for my nitro truck;) but remember the + and - are the switched from the old reciever.
