Couple of queries on my new Cougar
Right guys i have built my Cougar and had a quick practice at my track.
My queries are. The steering link onto the servo horn seems to touch the base slightly as you turn the steering. (Anyone else find this) Also i cant seem to fit a 24t pinion with the standard spur. Is this the case or am i doing something wrong? Also what general weight do you guys have your cars at? Cheers |
You need to put the spacers provided in the kit between the sevo mounts and the car this stops the servo horn rubbing on the chassis
the biggest pinion you can run on the cougar is 23 t due to them having a differnt internal gear ratio i curently use 22t pinion with the stock spur and 6.5t motor |
try buying a smaller spur gear, try this link here to get the right gearing

23t is max we can use with std spur latest setup sheets from tom cockerill and si moss state no weight or very little just to balance |
Why does not people change the internal gear ratio instead of just changing the spur? I did and it works great. Got the 2.4 now instead of of 2.6 and it works fine. Run a 81 spur and 22pinion on a 7.5 Orion.

Cheers for the help guys and info much appreciated.
I tried to get away with fitting one pair of servo spacers rather than the two supplied as the manual said to keep servo as far back as poss. Will now fit all spacers. Thanks for letting me know about the pinion i wont try and force a 24 in there now then lol. and as for weight i have fitted some to balance the car out and will just see how that runs 1st. Cheers for the help |
