Which wheels to use on a DEX410

I have just finished building my first DEX410 after being a loyal AE user for years.

What wheels can you use on the DEX410? And do they change the track width on the car.

I use AE and Losi wheels as I have so many I do not really want to have to buy all new Durango wheels. They do reduce the width at the front by 2mm but I can live with that.

Just use Durango wheels! simples

Only joking mate, most wheels fit to be honest. Ive used Associated, Losi and Tamiya wheels on test days. They prob do give a very slightly different track width, but the difference is so small you wouldnt notice it on the track.

I didnt know that, maybe thats why I feel the durango is twitchy. Might have to finally use my durango wheels that I have never touched.

I use Jconcept rulux wheels since I have loads of them with tyres on.

The front width is reduced with the durango wheels or without?

I think the rear width is the same no matter what wheel you use but on the front with Losi or AE the width is reduced. I did try with the old plastic front hubs to use some spacers behind some AE/HB hexes and then mount the wheel but this allowed the front hubs to fail. I may try this again as I now have the Tresrey aluminium front hubs and you may want to try this with the newer 2010 spec Durango plastic hubs that have the different sized bearings.

I just use durango as they are also nice and cheap. With the larger rpm ball cups on, when i use ae wheels and turn sharp the inside wheel scraps the ballcup. Will post pic today to show you.

The width is reduced when not using the Durango wheels, I found the Rulux wheels made it feel horrible off road, on-road, not so much of a problem.
