I am sorry, but the guy with the lowest turn motor or highest voltage cells is never the reason for them winning in off-road.
anyone can get a 3.5 sintered brushless motor and some good cells and it would be insanely fast, if that person was able to get it round the track and win with it then I would happily pay homage to them.
even in 4WD on our UK high grip tracks we run 5.5 bonded motors at max, at southport I put in a 4.5 sintered and I don't think I went round the track any faster, it was way too fierce! and it was a wild ride down the straight
