Thanks to all who have replied, this is as I say almost a totally new learning curve as I haven't touched 2WD since I sold my B4 back in 2005.
Chris, I was going to start with the mid motor 4 gear setup as the TORCH astro is grippy, but not ultra "velcro" grippy like astro carpet.
Also looking at the build manual I realised the steering linkage has no servo saver, does this mean a hard impact could trash the servo gears? I'll be running a Savox SC1258.
