Yes I did use the shims to stop the end float. Didn't use all of them as it became tight with the 3rd one.
Sounds like I'll be having another shell done in due course as I normally hate having holes!

http://www.oople.com/forums/attachme...3&d=1302458452 I've got the ESC at the edge of the car, thus may not be able to "breathe" with the shell so close. As said, plan to get a low profile savox servo and then move the ESC forwards and to the middle.
