Cougar SV a few questions

Hi,

just got myself my first 1/10th offroad, a Cougar SV and have a few general questions (I am not new to RC - I race 1/12th pan cars) to help me in the right direction,

Which spares should I have with me?

What type of speedo and motor should I be looking at?

For starters would I be ok to run a Tekin RS and a 10.5 motor?
(I will be running at Oswestry, if that helps at all)

Is the RS suitable - no heatsink or fan?

Cells - I thought about Demon power products DL5040 7.4v, 5000 mAh. 40+C, are these suitable?
