'Lumpy' Orca 6.5t Brushless
Guys,
Had an issue with my C4.1 on Thursday night. For the final, upon warm up the car was stopping quite quickly, I had assumed the mess/motor was off and was too tight. I ran it anyway and it was really like driving with a full on drag break!. Taken it all apart today and the mesh was fine. I reduced all the speedo setting to base (no drag brake etc) and it's still stopping quickly. Taken the motor out and the motor when running is very lumpy and almost feels as if its become unbalanced, if there is such a thing?. Motor grumbles rather than whizzes. Any suggestions? It's aboiut 5 months old and only really raced indoors. Thanks in advance, Neil

the sensor cable or board could be damaged or broken

What speedo ?
Sounds like a broken sensor board on the esc, I had the same issue. Change the sensor cable, then the motor and you will quickly found the issue. |

I had an ORCA 6.5 do this, it ran very hot plus felt like the brakes were full on, I eventually traced it to one of the screws for the timing cover just touching the end of one of the windings where it solders to the board. If you take the end of the motor off you should be able to take just take 0.5mm of either the screws or the end of the winding with a dremmel.

Hmmm you might be onto something there. Stripped it all down and cleaned it out, replaced components back and it appears to be fine. Just been and used a set of rubbers on the road outside and all good. Sounds a little different to my perfect 5.5t but that might be the winds.
Will keep you all posted, thanks for all your help
