I think im going to give the Acetone ago, I like the idea that you can keep it airtight and use reuse it many times over, it also looks to give a good clean finish. I will keep let the thread now how I get on.

Acetone
So my first set of wheels are having their bath, will report back the results tomorrow. I got the nifty little airtight container from Sainsburys.

i allways have 2 tubs one for taking off the rubber etc as you have, then a tub of cleaner acetone to dunk them in for a second session (helps keep wheels white) black wheels wont matter as much
some wheels dont like acetone and you end up with a blob, though the last ones i had that with were tamiya kit ones
