I started building straight after a very long day at college, but i couldn't wait!!!
First step the shocks! These are unlike anything i have assembled, very very smooth nothing is rough or difficult to put on, kit includes 2 sets of shocks and 2 sets of sway bars! I'm using 272 pistons as i have heard they make the overall shock performance smoother. WP_000180.jpg Small ideas like this make THE car a better car, The shock ends have a little bit on the side so they fit perfectly onto the shock spring cup, this will keep the cut inside well secured! WP_000184.jpg Boom! 4 shocks ready for action, Very very easy, took me 8 minutes! WP_000189.jpg I'm using 400cst shock oil for the Slough track, RWMCC

I found Jimmy in THE MANUAL!!
WP_000229.jpg In all seriousness though, i enjoyed reading the manual very much, every page had its own humor which was needed during a long build! Everything was very clear and understandable, unlike some manuals!

Next step the differentials!
again went on very very smoothly no hassle or fuss at all, but it took me some time to insert the pin which connects to the diff outdrive, but that's mainly because i'm blind! WP_000190.jpg WP_000191.jpg WP_000192.jpg WP_000193.jpg WP_000197.jpg All the diffs went together super smoothly, i'm using 5,3,3 diff oil as advised to me by one of the GB modelsport team members,

Forward we go!
Righto, time for the front end, wishbones+diff casing and turnbuckles. WP_000199.jpg The wishbones need a bit of drilling to make the holes larger so the hinge pin can spin freely, you need to do this with every kit (nearly), i have owned Losi's,Associated, thunder tiger, xray and various other kits and in ALL of them you had to drill the wishbone so the hinge pin can spin freely. WP_000200.jpg All put together with the diff nice and comfortably inside. WP_000202.jpg Next up the all scary TURNBUCKLES!! Actually these were one of the most EASIEST turnbuckles i have EVER build, i understand the older version of THE CAR's turnbuckles were a little difficult, but Oh my god!,these turnbuckles went on so smoothly and kept on going, didn't cause me any troubles whatsoever! quality of the parts is A class! WP_000203.jpg WP_000204.jpg and BANG all done! WP_000205.jpg

Next up, the steering knuckles ! along with those sexy CVD drive shafts, once again quality wise everything feels very very light but super High quality little bit like an F1 car actually!
WP_000207.jpg WP_000208.jpg Bang all done!! once again no problem whatsoever! everything was very very smooth and easy to put on, WP_000209.jpg WP_000210.jpg I sometimes forget how sexy those JQ towers look WP_000211.jpg

THE rear end..
Once again went on super smoothly,no troubles whatsoever. Again drill the wishbones so the hinge pin moves freely. WP_000213.jpg WP_000214.jpg At this point my table looked terrible! i'm a bit OCD about clean stuff, so i stopped for a bit had a clean than restarted. I don't normally use the manual! but its good to have on hand just in case.. WP_000215.jpg Ahh thats better! WP_000226.jpg When you insert the diff remember to push the pinion in all the way, because the bearing is very very tight. This keeps all the crap out of the system! WP_000218.jpg WP_000216.jpg

Sorry been quite busy recently!
Right, time for the center differential. Again make sure you use BLUE locktight, i learned from my mistakes by using red locktight Red won't allow the screws to come out, EVER! WP_000227.jpg The manual isn't clear on which way you put the brake cams and levers, but they should be facing outwards,so in the picture i build them wrong. They are supposed to be facing you when the diff brace is facing you. WP_000228.jpg

Time for the side guards and installing the front and rear end+ center differential.
MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS LINED UP,and Thread lock the differential chassis screws, (Diff adjustment, all the way forward,86mm dogbone in the front and 110mm dogbone in the rear. Also make sure to install the bumper in too! i didn't install mine as i always install these small things at the end. I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE O RINGS AND THE STEERING PARTS! add a little bit of grease to the Chassis o rings so they stick to the chassis, Build your steering assembly (very very easily, takes 3 minutes!) insert servo saver posts and install steering assembly onto them. THEN add you front end, rear end and Diff. WP_000230.jpg WP_000231.jpg WP_000234.jpg

Next up, Chassis braces!! and steering turnbuckles.
When you insert all the nuts into the braces, make you sure a wee bit of glue so the nuts don't fall out whenever you have to rebuild it. and if you can't line them up with the chassis hole's get a mini screwdriver and force the brace towards the hole. Again easy peasy lemon squeezey.... WP_000236.jpg WP_000238.jpg WP_000239.jpg WP_000240.jpg WP_000241.jpg WP_000242.jpg

Next up the radiotray, super easy to build and was very very nice, i recommend using hump packs in the front IF you want the front to lean a little more, i myself use sticks in the rear.
used Savox 1258 and 1256 servos, WP_000243.jpg Transponder in, and wiring+servo's needs to be sorted now! WP_000253.jpg DONE!,just waiting on the throttle ( 1258tg servo ) WP_000256.jpg All inserted, hmmm it looks sweeet! WP_000258.jpg

Been a long time, sorry! very busy recently. Anyway...
Fuel tank and engine next... fuel tank took 2 minutes so thought would insert the engine at the same time. comes with Inserted THE BELL and THE clutch shoes and ready to insert in to the car! WP_000260.jpg WP_000261.jpg BANG! all installed, WP_000265.jpg WP_000266.jpg I recommend adding some aluminium tape to protect the side guards from the exhaust heat! I recommend ROSS he sells Aluminium foil tape 70mm x 45meters for a awesome price and the quality is brilliant! http://www.oople.com/forums/member.php?u=5200 WP_000268.jpg

You took your time there mate but it's looking great
The quality looks fantastic! Are you going to bring it to Swindon this weekend to break her in? I might even pit for you if you ask nicely |
