Thanks Roger, you are way too kind
![]() c0sie is right in that the 56 is the easiest fit but since you already have the 81MG just make it work. It's a beast of a servo and you'll never break it. The 81MG is about 29mm wide and the RC18 chassis is 33-34mm wide so you have a bit of play side ways to get it to line up ok. I've played around with a few servo's to get them to fit in all my micro cars (Mini Inferno, RC18's, Recoil, etc.) and I now exclusively use 81MG (or the newer 82MG) and 85MG's. I tried the following servo's in the above cars: Hitec HS-55 Hitec HS-56HB Hitec HS-65HB Hitec HS-65MG Hitec HS-81MG Hitec HS-82MG Hitec HS-85HB Mighty micro Hitec HS-85MG Mighty micro Airtronics 94091Z Futaba 3155 and the following servo savers: Airtronics 94091 saver RC18 plastic RC18 alloy (GPM) XRay M18 (by far the best) 2 x unknown makes I tried various metal spings, O-ring fixes, etc. This is how sad it got in the end ![]() |

thanks guys but after about 4 and a half hours of tinkering, dremeling, screwwing, and unscrewing
, i have finally got it to fit pretty well. i have made up a ally brace which holds the servo in place pretty well. i have also strapped the reciever to the top plate instead of beind the servo as it wouldnt fit due to the ally brace and overall it looks very nice and works great!!! so im happy in the end and sorry about posting how i did in the first place. when i get some pics ill put em on here and also put more in the "look what ive made section". I now know how to fit a hs 81 servo into a rc18mt and i am well impressed with my self. so that is my Sunday afternoons work. ..thanks guys![]() also i will be bringing this along to pudsey this wednesday for the evening meeting, so hope to see most of you mini class racers there. it will be ace and i will gladly show you the setup i have made
