ive been using the original belts front and rear for the last 7 months with a 6.5t brushless system with no problems. but i have made tensioners front and rear and added a bearing just above the la11 to stop the belt jumping teeth.

With my type cf gearbox and tensioners either the ebay repro or original. Original is stronger so down to preferance.

TBH if your using my design gearbox then would advise doing it my way as its been faultless. I use one on the L brace, and two on the rear belt. Yes its a pain buying two packets but it works well. Email me mate if you are having problems.

front bumper option
not sure if this has been brought up already, but as I was in need of a front bumper for my Lazer, and not wanting to pay $50+ for it ( I am Scottish after all)
I had a look around today at in my local hobby store. I grabbed a DER-208-A Bump Skid piece for an RC8, it was $7. Now I haven't tried to install it yet, but lining it up with the chassis, it sure does look like with minimal trimming it'll fit. Some good pics here, show how it appears to fit similarly to the stock item. http://www.rc-race-shop.com/de-racin...e-p-45630.html I'll update when I get around to the re-build to be sure it fits.

managed to win this, I believe it's a ZXs?? plan is to strip it to steal the parts I need for my ZXr price was right anyway, and comes with some extra parts, so I should be able to finish my build off pretty soon

Yer, looks like a zx sport, not a bad price either.
I've got nearly a complete one I'm restoring at the moment and got nearly all the parts needed new in packets. Stand next to my zxr when I've finished it. :-)

Hi James,
Stephen from Fibre-Lyte has found me a tub but he's not sure about the rear droop changes you mentioned before. Any chance you could provide some more details? Cheers, Rich |

Well then you need a mk2 chassis. Ive sent them the picture of my mod to my chassis that has made a big difference.

rear gearbox
hi, just after a little advise please guys. i have stripped down and starting to rebuild my lazer after racing it over winter.....and i have decided to re built the rear gearbox assy as per manual and was just woundering is this a good idea as i now have about 1mm of float side to side on the layshaft?
when i first built it up last year i added shims to take away most of the float but in the back if my mind i kept thinking the float my be for a reason. it worked fine and belt looks in good condition still. so i would like to know please is how others build the layshaft assembly? |
