Tool Sizes Needed To Build Kits
Hi all,
I am still decising on what car to buy, but looks like its either going to be an Team Associated B4.1/B44.1 or a Team Durango 210/410. When I used to build kits it was so much more a pleasant experience when I had the correct tools.. My question is what size hex drivers do I need for either kit. Associated used to be Imperial hex sizes and a you would need a 4mm turnbuckle tool, has this changed? What about Durango cars? Thanks Si |

Associated are still running imperial but durango are metric apart from the bleed screw on the shock cap!
1.5, 2.0 & 2.5mm hex divers plus a .006 i think imperial driver for the shock bleed screw. Plus assorted box spanners for the slipper nut 5.5mm and wheel nut spanner as well should do for basics.

Asso is still imperial. You'll need a good 0,050, 1/16 and 5/64 hex driver.
Asso still include the L shaped hex drivers in the kit but they are only really usefull if you want to strip the hex. |

You can use a 2mm in place of the 5/64 |

If you have a look thro the durango manuals (all available online) i'm pretty sure they show all the sizes you need as you go. (They do, its on page 8 of the 210 manual) |

When I got a new kit a couple of years ago I went onto the manufacturers web site, downloaded the manual and then looked in that for the tools needed and made sure I had them all.
I think all the manufacturers now have the manuals online to download (and I refer to them more than the printed ones that came with the cars as I normally only look at them now when ordering spares from part numbers at the comuter).
