Default Speedo glitch???

I'm having problems with what I think is the speedo glitching. When I turn the radio on and then the car everything is fine, but as soon as I put the car on the track it shoots off like a missile!!!.
I've had a look at everything I can think off,ie the radio settings,I've reset the speedo and I've tried a power cap too but nothing seems to work.

I don't think it's the radio because I've used it to run my other car with different speedo and motor in and it was fine.

I'm running an Absima CTS10 speedo with an LRP 7.5 x20. I've had no trouble with it until last weekend.

Anybody got any ideas???

Phill

Did you use the same receiver in your other car?
When yousay everything is fine do throttle and steering work before putting it down?
Have you reset your end points and rebound radio (if it's 2.4)

Agree with Sparkyboy, this sounds like a range issue. Try this list...

Poorly charged Tx or faulty BEC (as per post above)
Broken Tx or Rx aerial
Faulty speedo Rx plug
Broken/cracked Rx board
Something metal touching the carbon or another piece of metal.

Hope you sort it!

Yep,used same reciever. Yep,if I give it some throttle in my hand it works fine but as soon as I put the car down next to me it shoots off!. Re-bound the radio and reset end points.

Checked all the above. That's why it's confusing me,it was fine when I put the receiver in the 4wd. I put the receiver back in my 2wd today and it did exactly the same as before, shooting off on its own.

I think tomorrow I'll check through it all again. I may have to order another rx just to eliminate that.

I run the Etronix Pulse Pro set which is probably the same as your Core with a Flow Works and a 7.5t X12 motor and was fine up to a couple of weeks ago when the car started glitching so I installed a separate capacitor into the receiver and touch wood works fine; l know you've installed one but is it worth trying another before trying a new receiver?

Out of curiosity is it the blue receiver with the bind button or the older black one that uses a binding loop?, I only ask as my son uses the older set and has had lots of problems recently with his car cutting out.

It's the older black one with the bind plug. Ive had trouble with these receivers before but binding issues, never the car taking off like a bullet.
I need a new one for my second car so I'm going to order one anyway. I'll also order a power cap as well and try that and see what happens.

I actually tried the car again today and it worked fine,no glitches, nothing.
