it was just the narrow rear end. why you'd build a car that wasn't using the full width allowance is bizarre! stability stability stability

the Losi hydra-drive was ace though

It was as wide as an RC10 though wasn't it?? I'll have to measure my one compared to an RC10 - I'm sure it wasn't far out...

Default TOP Models

TOP Models are still going but they are now based in Rhuddlan on the way to Rhyl - Believe that Brian Stacey sold the business to a fella called Dave who is heavily into Nitros. Be very surprised if you could get hold of anything for a AYK or Hybrid anymore.

Hey Jamie, Not sure why you think that T.O.P models is heavily into Nitros?, The shop also specialises in electric, They also have old stock available so Dave Vine (The owner ) may be able to help you.
If they havent got it in stock they will get it for you!!

I know they have old kyosho spares for the triumph/optima somewhere!!!!

Back onto the Hybrid discussion, Is it possible to build one from spares/old cars etc????

Yes as gaz said jamie what makes you say he's heavily into nitro he try's to avoid it if he can "to much messing and dirty" he will tell yeh.
He will push the electric side of the hobby more then anything else.
I'm sure if you ask him about AYK and HYBRID parts or even cars from way back when he may have what your after. His shop is like an aladin's cave...

Well not quite that much.. but I added up what my one cost (every single part is new) and it is nearly £500

I spoke to Dave yesterday, he still has some Hybrid parts left and a "Big Box" of AYK Pro Radiant spares apparently. Also a few old schumacher parts and some kyosho.

Jason, just ring him mate (use Skype from Oz maybe?) the number is in this thread.

Hello -- Yes you're right - T.O.P. Models is in Rhuddlan for the time being - But NO you're wrong about the nitro bit - I sell nitro because I get asked for them, if I could just sell electric cars I would be a lot happier.
I still have a massive box of AYK Pro Radiant spares, and a smaller box of Hybrid parts - plus odds and sods from Schumacher - Losi - Traxxas - Kyosho etc etc etc.
Don't forget T.O.P. Models has been around since 1988 and we have not thrown anything out so if you want retro stuff its worth an e.mail just in case we have what you want.

I used to have this kit for my old rc10, wasn't cheap at the time and from memory it really didn't improve things too much, longer travel associated front shocks were nice, but thats about it. Ended up selling to brother in law who depressing found the car in his loft and sold it at a car boot sale £20 complete.
