Thumbs up Lipo Tray for 511 by RudeBits

Hi all

The long awaited Lipo holder from RudeBits is on the machinery and being made as we speak.
The Lipo Holder will come in 5 parts and is adjustable for weight - Good eh!!
3 needed all the time and will have a weight of 40g.
Add another in the centre and then all adds up to 58g
Add the last part and now all adds up to 76g total with all 5 parts fitted.
A cut out on the centre weights can be seen and is for the belt to run by.
Also one of the 3 centre weights is tapped so it can be screwed on and off for quick interchange of weights and set up.
The other 2 have just holes - OK your thinking which is good!!!!
Price will be £27.50 plus PP
Pics below

ps - please ping me an email if youre interested as to avoid dissapointed of not getting from the first batch - tony@rudebits.net
Thats all folks - cheers all

Looks good. Does it allow the lipos to sit further away from the bulkhead to avoid dremeling the lovely shiny blueness away?

Don´t think so. They are shaped like the Tamiya tray(s) = battery in "standard" position. You use the "undertray screws" to attach them.

How would these do on a 501x, I've not seen a 511 in the flesh so dont know how different the battery locations are. I dont mind if I have to do a bit of work with the dremel on either the car or the tray.

If the rudebits is identical in shape to that of the original Tamiya trays, then the rear will not fit, as judging from this pic from http://kentech.blogs.se the rear attaches to a part of the frame that TRF501 does not have, at least that part behind the rear battery post seems a lot smaller/shorter than on the TRF511 when looking at my TRF501 (so I think that the rear screw would attach to "empty" space).

I myself bought the TRF501 lipo trays (made of carbon fibre) from Fredrik Emilsson. Being carbon fibre, I'll just use extra weights if needed.

Looking at that photo it appears that the lipos do have room to move out a little bit, possibly enough to clear the bulkhead.

Mine have. Got home to lovely shiny brass bits. Cheers Tony.

Don't worry Scott i'm sure they'll arrive tomorrow.

Any recommendations as to the weights? 1, 2, or all 3? Suppose it depends what sort of weight distribution front to rear everyones running and what cells. I'm running Intellect 5000 lipos.

Cheers

Mark

Hi yah... - Great news the bits are arriving ok - Scott me old fruit, I am sure they will be with you sometime in 2010 !!! - Only joking of course - Dave sent them to you and hence the different time scale.
If anyone has any photos of the parts fitted in car please post a pic here as I haven't got pics of product fitted - Lee Martin is off to the States and didn't want to bother him with photos etc as he's getting ready (good luck Lee!)
Cheers all and see yah all soon.....

Hi all

It has become aparent that the belt on the 511 runs slightly off centre on most of the Tamiya cars.
Our adjustable Lipo Holder weight kit that sits in the centre seems to allow the belt to touch if all three are used in the middle of the chassis.
We are therefore revising the top plate (threaded plate) and will be sending a new one to everyone that has bought a kit from us.
Free of charge of course.....
We also apologise in advance if anyone is upset over this and has not said so! Revised plate will be sent out ASAP

That's all folks - talk soon
