Default RC10 stealth think B2

After 20 years sitting on the shelf i thought i would give it a go. Put my LRP SXX speedo in and lipo's out of my starter box and borrowed a 5.5 motor super glued the side walls of the tyres cos they were perished
and took it out for a race and it was awesome so i'm now thinking about racing it more but need wheels and a body who stocks the OLD school stuff

It's black ali tub stealth version

trackside spares managed to get some wheels and shells fairly recently, might be worth trying to see if he can get more?

If its the alloy tub its not a B2 (thats a plastic car) its a Team car.
The picture below is mine, running at Bury with a Team Wave RBS and Novak 10.5t. I've tried hotter motors but the slipper didn't like them - if you are running a 5.5t I'd recommend fitting the slipper from a B4 to be on the safe side. It fits straight on as most of the gearbox is the same.
The shell and wheels both came from ebay, where there are several places doing shells. The wheels are from JC's web shop and come in a set with the fronts too.
I'm doing better with mine than I was with a B4....

Ironically Braxteds predecessor (Springfield) is where I used to race my first RC10, back around 1990!

I used to race there as well Keith Wright still runs it. Do you remember Kristian Gibbs and Graham Kisby as they still race there

The fronts are fine, but the backs aren't. You need more offset than a B4 wheel offers, and unless yours has been changed you'll find it has a larger diameter axle than the B4 uses.
Its JC racing not J Concepts - They don't currently have RC10 ones on ebay but email and ask.

I remember Keith and Kristian, don't remember Graham. I'm Simon Davanzo, raced there in the early 90's till I went to Uni - my brother Andrew raced there a while longer.

Love the Radioactive sticker on the shell - that takes me back!

When I say B4 fronts the one I have are off a B4, but not kit ones. I think they are Hot Bodies. They look a little narrower than kit ones.

That must be it then, standard width B4 front wheels don't let you get full lock.

You need to be using the GT wide front axles to use B4 fronts, you can use B4 rear hub carriers with RC10 CVD's with 3/16th axles and bearings to use B4 rears. Hub carriers need to be drilled to accept 1/8" Hinge pins.
JC Wheels are good quality, good price and saves you some cash on the above

My Cobra sits on RC10B2/3/4 JC Racing 5 spokes:

They're their best sellers.

Such a small World :-) I grew up racing at Springfield on the old school car park and I probably used to serve you in the shop (Radio Active) back then

Its great to know Graham Kisby is still racing - I certainly remember him and Kristian - and The Davanzo family name certainly rings bells although if memory serves, you were probably both knee high to a (Tamiya) Grasshopper back then ???

As for the Radio Active decals - I wish I still had some :-(

Good times back then - one set of tyres could almost last a season!

Yes I remember you. As I was telling Danny I've still got a Parma Cyclone that was either yours or his old team motor - 17x4 IIRC. Wasn't exactly knee high (I was 14) but you probably remember my younger brother Andrew more than me anyway.
Both of us were older than Kristian Gibbs though! I still laugh when I remember little Kristian stood on the rostrum alongside the towering Darren Foy......

I've still got a few old shells with RadioActive stickers, even one with Ashley's models stickers too.

Clearly the easiest way to run 2.2 tires is to just buy the JC wheels. If you don't want to go this route you have several options. Run the RC10GT wide front axles and then use B4 front wheels. You must have the inline steering hubs for this. At the rear you can keep the stock hubs if you use B2 rear cvd's and bearings. Then you can just bolt on some Thunder Tiger BXII rear wheels.
