Electronics Advice Please
I have a 2nd hand CAT K1 on the way to me and could do with a little advice on the electronics.
I am returning to the sport from the days of 40 Meg radio's and brushed motors so all this new tech is baffling but I have shortlisted the following:-
What do you guys think of this setup? Any advice appreciated! |

Reventon Pro
I too have just returned to the sport after a long lay-off and have gone down the second-hand route with a Dex210. I am delighted with it, but managed to fry an equally second-hand ESC first time out with a 7.5t motor.
Lesson learnt I've invested in The Reventon Pro and can only say it has been brilliant. It's robust and came supplied with fan and programming card. Highly recommended. I have retained my old 40Mhz radio gear as it seems so few people use them, I may never have to change crystals!!! Also I still prefer the 'sticks' so will stay with it until I can find a 2.4Ghz stick model. |

I'd have to agree with Danny's comments about the radio. I started back about 3-4 years ago, got the best of kit but bought a cheap radio. False economy mate, ok if your on a tight budget or just bashing round but personally speaking, I upgraded my radio pretty quickly. I've since changed cars, quite a few times actually lol, but I've stuck with the same radio. Quality will always tell. If its sticks you prefer then why not look at the Sanwa Gemini X or possibly a second hand Futaba set? It would be well worth the investment mate

The Core radio is just fine. I have one and it's flawless. If you're going to race at BRCA events then I think the Turnigy cells are illegal.
Hope this helps. Jimmy.

Aside from the radio I'm not sure why you've listed the MMM 10.5 speed passion motor
I believe that combo is about £20 more than the normal 'grey can' V3. If you've purposely chosen a slower motor wind there seems little point in buying a quicker version of a slower motor. An 8.5 'normal' V3 might be a better bet & could last you longer... I'm sure that £20 could be better spent on other kit |

a few people at our club have had issues with core radio's, have a look for a higher spec secondhand radio. i have been using futaba 3vc for years, now with a frsky 2.4ghz module, something along these lines would be good.
