Default B44.3 need set up advice please

Hi guys

I'm new to the B44.3 and can seem to find a good set up for high grip astro. (Bury metro)

At the moment I seem to be getting loads of grip roll all over the track.

Any advice on shock settings like, which springs, oil, position, rebound, ride hight ?

Any advice appreciate

Matt

Anyone else out there in the world of Team Associated got any setup tips they'd like to share, tried searching online but all setup seem to be on clay or carpet, noticed a big difference in information available from racing kyosho or Durango.
Any help appreciated,

Cheers Matt

Schumacher Mini Spikes front and rear, with the outside row cut off, or cut staggers yellow up front.

Hi Mick

I've picked the car up second hand so I'm not sure exactly what oil is in the shocks or diffs at the mo, I was just looking for a decent tried and tested setup for astro so I could buy the correct oil and springs ect and copy it. Ha

I've got the turn-buckles on the shortest setting and about -1 camber, blue front springs and black rear, about 20mm ride height all round, shocks are on the outside hole on the arms and inside holes on the shock towers

cheers

Hi,

I've really just carried over the astro set-ups from the B44.2 to the B44.3.
One thing I have found with the B44.3 was to run lighter oil in the diffs.
I couldn't get the car to steer / rotate running 7k/5k oils, drop to 3k front and rear (100k centre) car really started to work.

This was on a tight high traction indoor astro track.

Matt, Bury grip roll can be managed. When you go to Bury and we are there you are welcome to have a look at our 44.3's.

We haven't run Luke's there yet, but Josh's was very good. 7K front diff, 5K rear, 75K in centre. I'll be increasing Luke's centre oil weight - he drives harder.

You want the front shocks mounted to the outside holes in the arms, inside at the rear.

Your springs seem very soft. Josh used front red, rear green. Shock oils 35wt front and rear, pistons 1.5 front, 1.7 rear. Josh also used shorty battery. Car was good.

For a complete set up I would recommend you look at CML web site and go to their downloads. Neil Cragg and Ben Jameson posted set ups for 44.3 on astro.

Default Shock setup

Hi guys

Another quick question if I may

How much rebound (if any) do you have when setting up your shock Pistons, again to race on high grip bumpy astro ?

Cheers

Matt

Yep
Equally weighted front and rear side to side it feels better!
It was dialled at the weekend, 2nd meeting with the car also and just didnt have enough time before hand to see what its limits were so had to settle for Q3.

I've switched the servo position to the rhs , just drilled the chassis in the same positions but on the other side. A longer link is needed and space up the ballstud on the steering so the link doesn't hit the center driveshaft. I'll post a pic if anybody wants.

well alot of us are using 2 row stud(yellow in the dry).like the old turf rippers on the front. they say it really calms the front down and stops it digging in.(high grip astro)hth
