Anyone else thinks this is a Durango and not a Serpent?

Serpent have apparently redesigned the 4wd buggy in shaft drive..great news I'm sure for anyone who's bought the new belt car! Jorn is supposed to be rubbing the 4wd car with front shafts removed on the high grip worlds track.

It's the SRX4 SD. They took a few cars with them because they didn't know how the track would pan out, including an updated SRX2 MM and another car, but the car Joern is running is just his own SRX4 converted to 2WD (they made a shaft drive car for him as he felt more comfortable than with belts on astro).

I don't know if the drivetrain parts are Durango related, but the chassis is Serpent. Not sure which version Hupo is running, but Billy is testing something completely different.

I know Serpent posted about making a SRX4 SD but that looks 100% Durango to me, 410 wheels, small bore shocks with gaiters, bulkheads, all looks straight Durango to me.

Question I'd also like to ask is ?

It's the 2WD Class !
( not a converted 4WD, why is this allowed ? )

If they don't have a competitive 2WD, tough, run it or don't run your 2WD, if it's not 2WD then go home and design one.

Because it's classed on driven wheels only. If it drives 2 wheels at the back, that's the only criteria for eligibility and it's been met - there's nothing that stipulates that a car mustn't have the ability to be converted into a 4WD. The majority of forward motor designs are essentially just 4WD cars with different front bulkheads and redesigned/rearranged chassis - if you were to implement your rule, how would you implement it? Where would the cut-off point be for legality? If any car that shared parts between the two platforms was shown to have the ability to be converted between the two with any number of parts, wouldn't that be illegal too?

The only thing dictated in each class is what wheels can be driven, and the respective minimum weights. If it's at the minimum weight and those wheels are being driven, it's met the regulations - the rest is just the shape of some materials on the chassis. If anything, the extra weight/bulkiness and the lack of kick-up means the 4WD converted cars are at a slight disadvantage in some areas.

Let's see what will found in the stores. Racing something you are not selling or do not intend to sell is pointless.
Sure: other brands race prototype cars/parts but basically they are the cars they are selling or will be selling soon.
Currently looking for a new 2WD and the new TLR looks nice. I expect it is the new 2WD, which will probably come with a different gearbox for more rear placement of the battery (notice slots in side bars). Maybe even 2 choices of gearboxes included like the Original 2.0: this time 2x MM instead of 1 RM and 1 MM.
If it is something completely different, I defenitely will not be racing TLR next year.

Race what you sell!

Basically (give or take a bit!) it is! Serpent posted a release stating that the the shaft car they were taking was the S500 + 10 years of learning, and the S500 became the durango.
