Default WRCA Round 1 England v Wales 17th of April

England V Wales

The Battle for middle England.

Right guys and Gal's Ledbury Model Car Club have been asked to hold round 1 of the WRCA series on the 17th of April.
In return for holding the first round of the WRCA, the ledbury drivers have been asked to support the round held at Talywain later on in the series, which we will of course do.
This round will be an 1/8 scale round only....

Ledbury have very lucky in attracting some very good quality welsh drivers to the Big 3 winter series this year and we all have had some very close quality racing.

With this in mind, the club have been talking to some of the welsh drivers to see if we could make the first round go with a bit of a bang.

We have all agreed that a little inter club competition would be quite good fun and would carry on the quality level of banter in the pits from the winters racing.
I personally remember being wound up like a coil spring in the last round of the winter series by 3 Saundersfoot driver's.
I had poled in the B Final and a saundersfoot driver was right behind me in 2nd.
These 3 drivers took great joy in winding me up during the 36 minute final before mine when i was pitting and a captive audience for them.
All these guy's said for 36 minutes was "
he'll have ya in the first corner, he doesn't have break's your his break's".
It was all good fun and taken in the right way.

Anyway we propose making the Ledbury and Talywains rounds an inter club competition just to spice things up.

The classic England V Wales competition.

You do not need to be a member of either club to come and join in, you don't even have to been English or Welsh. Just choose who you want to compete for.

We will release further information regarding this idea in due course but the question is.

ARE YOU UP FOR IT
post you ideas guys and lets see where it leads to..

I'm just going on previous years but the WRCA ran the 1/8th brushless seperatly. I think this is due to a few are running the ezrun 80amp systems which will run about 12min on a set of batteries. I havn't run mine up as yet cos me 5s 5000mah lipo's havn't arrived but I'm hoping on 20min run time.

@Jamie Bowen. Will there be a separate heat for electric 1/8th's? If not and we have to run with nitro's, how long will the finals be as im currently pushing 12min run time and dont fancy changing packs half way round.lol

Post Electrics running with the nitros 1/8 scale.

We will be running to WRCA rules regarding the electric 1/8 scales.
I have never been to a wrca meetig as yet so i don't know the answer to your question if afraid.
It would be best to ask the organisers of the wrca series to clarify.
I assumed rightly or wrongly that the electrics would be running with the nitros so the question is well worth asking and clarifying.

I see one person has said NO to holding an cross border competition, i would be nice to here why!!! and who doesn't want it.
It is in any case a bit of fun to which i see no one getting all et up regardless of the outcome.
After all it's a bit of fun for most of us who race.

Race date change for Ledburys round 1.

I am pleased to announce that Ledbury have decided to move the date of the 1st round of Ledburys summer series to tie in with the WRCA round 1.
Both will know be held on the 17th which i think is a good thing.
With a lot of the welsh guys having a crack at the rallycross nationals this year on the 3rd it means a lot of drivers would have to race 3 weekends in a row.

So to help reduce racing cost's for those drivers who want to do both the WRCA and the Ledbury series, the meetings will again be combined as they were previously meant to be.

This also means we will have i believe a very good turnout to kick start the WRCA and Ledbury series off.

Jamie.

Should be enough of you 1/8th electric bumpkins to warrent your own heat surely??
...someone prize Mr Knight away from gnr..theres another. he could be trapped under a roll of astro as i type

Jamie T,I would have thought Hywel would have the answer or is that smarties have the answer

Dont think it was decided at last wrca meeting as to wether nitro & 1/8th would run together or seperate,my view is seperate if there are enough drivers

the 10th clashed with the 1/10 regionals i think. It's so hard with so many people doing different classes to find dates where there are no clashes.
I'm really Sorry Andy.

Steve you are right regarding the 1/8 electrics, We may even run 1/10 as well as beaning as the it's a mixed date now.

So you probably will see heats on the day for.

1/8 rallyx nitro
1/8 rallyx leccy,
1/8 Truggy
1/10 2/4WD and short course.

If 10th scale do run they can't score points as it's clashing with the 10th nationals
but that's already been identified here:
