Is the car that is currently run at the ROAR nationals already the production version? Will there be a price difference compared with the RB-5?

Some pics I took of the "production" version of the RT5 at the ROAR Nationals in Omaha, Nebraska USA. One is Mark Pavidis' and the other is Jared Tebos. Mark told me that this is pretty much the final version. They were trying to figure out front springs though and felt that they needed a firmer spring for it than what they have available at this stage.

Also, check out the pic of the quick changes hubs. Truck will use the same wheel front and rear with no adapter needed like the Losi truck.

Quick change wheels all the way around is a nice touch if the truck ever comes out

I really hope they will bring out a SC version, too!
Losi will show theirs on 9 July IIRC...

So many nice kits around currently, I really don't know what to buy next!
(Business as usual...)

Will Kyosho meet the late July deadline?! In this case I might be overwhelmed and get one while I'm in the States.

We have got these trucks on order now for the UK.

You can pre-order from your local model shops.

I got all the pics and stuff but only as a pdf at moment.

I am not in office at moment but i think ETA was about early september.

hiya strangers!

I'm just wondering why quick change wheels on trucks and not say buggies?

I can understand the need for quick change wheels on a GP stadium truck that runs a 1 hour main but EP ST? aren't all EP racing events done in 5 mins?

Are drivers actually thinking about changing their tires in that 5 mins?

Wouldn't a regular axle with a 4mm wheelnut be more secure and lighter? and less complex (read as recipe for failure)

Just wondering...

Thats a good point,

We have been discussing exactly that.

Quick release are great and mandatory on Circuit cars.
lets see if the public like.

I'd love to have QCs on my SC10 - everytime you change gearing, you have to remove the wheel. Of course you don't really need it, but it is nice to have!

Does Kyosho plan on selling a conversion kit like they do for the RB5 to use B4 wheels except a conversion kit for the RT5 that will allow you to use losi QC wheels which i have about 40-60 sets mounted.

by circuit cars i guess you are referring to 1/8 scale onroad cars?
considering that they race 60-min final .. quick release makes sense.

but for 5 or 10 mins (like 1/10 stadium trucks) ... i dunno ..

Well. Team Losi's truck has it, why shouldn't the Kyosho RT-5 have it?

300 dollars is a little steep, but I thought about it and it isnt that bad,
It may be the only truck ever made that uses front and rear clips
to hold your tires on without locknuts, heck that saves money in the long run.
I'm just worried about it not coming with tires/wheels or a body, but from amain hobbies picture
it looks like they are included.
I'll probably end up with a Ultima RB5 "SP edition" also because they updated the parts on it.
My uncle used to race an original ultima back in the 80's, so maybe I need to try kyosho.
